the closest red team ship to your white flag

takes possession of the ship along with its port slot

The Captain and crew are interred until the end of the war.

As long as repair costs are double to buy your crew from captivity I like your idea.

Ah, yes, after the rest of your team's tier 8s fighting at the battle die because, you know, they actually have their ship there firing at the enemy, you get to go home scot free with no repair bill. That's called entitlement.

Well as long as you would have to purchase the vessel back at the original cost of the ship, and all installed up grades, and train a new captain from rookie status, I say go for it.

One of the reasons I never intend to play high tier DD, or even CA. Because you'll be killed almost every game and the repair costs will be ridiculous. I still think that repair costs should be removed completely to allow more casual play of the higher tiers.

But back to the point, there's nothing you can do if your team gets absolutely wrecked and then all of the sudden you have half of the enemy team on your [edited]. It's stupid that at that point I am forced to deal with the ludicrous system that is the repair cost.

the surrendering captain in this case would be hung for dereliction of duty (or cowardice depending upon the mood of fleet command at the time)

This is not politically correct and offends me

There is a simple solution to getting the funds to repair your ship.  Cause the enemy to have to repair their ships.  It will work out nicely.

What a tragedy that CVs have to deal with a repair cost that other ships have to deal with!

ok, 40 years in Leavenworth

Americas Army had that. You spawned in a jail cell and just heard a harmonica and that was it.

I get where you're coming from but .... think about the profile of the typical player who plays a game like this. Then you'll see why this won't ever happen.

A white flag would be CVs version of arty drowning themselves.

Can play the whole match giving out damage. But you when it is your turn to get some in return, you want a way out.

Instead of a white flag, how about a self detonate button?

Should also be a reward for causing people to blow there own ammo stacks

There should be the option to raise the white flag in the case your team is doing horrible and your ship is fated to go beneath the waves. It's fun at the low tiers to see how far you can survive, but at tier 7 with my Ranger, it's absolutely no fun having an 80k bill after my game. Let me surrender and I'll be out of the game without having to lose my ship and 80k. Or remove repair costs...

It's called quitting out of the match.  If you were hoping to save on repair and ammo cost by white flagging out, sorry to say but that will not be an option since it would be severely abused.

If you intend to just give up, then why play at all?

I don't care if I die in tiers 1-6. But I want to get the Midway, best looking ship in the game, but every death is such a setback now. This game would be much better if it weren't for the repair costs.

80k repair bill?  hahaha.  Wait until you get to tier 10.

Terrible suggestion, otherwise.

If you don't care about dying, then what is the need for the white flag?

I don't see "every death is such a setback". The only setbacks for me is when I play like crap, which nets little XP and credits.
