Something needs to be done with it's dispersion. All my games in it are 100% RNG decided.

Perfectly aimed mid ship salvos at 4km land completely around the target. I was broadside to him also broadside.

So I switch to single shots... Aim mid ship right at the superstructure, lands 100m short, adjust slightly, 400m past. I had a [edited]CA let me unleash 4 or 5 broadside salvos at him at 4km and hit 1 shot. He then kills me with 2 torps from 2 different salvos, and then proceeds to belittle me when I called [edited]on the rng.

But anyway, at 4km I should not have missed 95% of my shots on a broadside target. Any other ship I would have destroyed it, hell, I unlocked the Myobi right after and did more damage stock setup with the same aiming style.

welcome to battleships lol. Your only job is to aim the guns such that your rounds land in the general area of the citadel, weather it penetrates and does a horrific amount of damages is out of your hands.

Common scenario for one of my battleships: fire two rounds at a St. Louis to get the lead right. Adjust and follow up with 4 rounds that land mid-ship (2/4 hit for 1600 damage . Fire a full salvo that hit mid-ship (2/6 hit for 4500 damage). Fire a full salvo that hit mid-ship (3/6 hit for 23000 damage and  2 citadels  and the kill). It's just very random.

Or you could try closing distance like a good BB player...

Think of BB as a "shotgun"... Just because it can shoot 50 yards, doesn't mean it's effective at 50 yards... A shot gun might only be lethal at <30 yards (hypothetically, don't try this at home ).

Too many players think that battleships should have "sniper" like game play, point and click accuracy... I round that travels 16 miles has all kinds of physical forces impacting it's trajectory... simple science...

Not always the best choice, especially with carriers and...destroyers.

naw even at close range, 4KM as the OP stated, the dispersion can be awful. In fact, against anything with torpedoes, this can be a death  sentence.

I've played up to T6 of the IJN and T5 US  in CBT. 4km is deadly close range for a BB, about 10m in your analogy, and as I said my next game in the Myogi I was hitting at 8+km easily. I know how to play, did you try the Kawachi in Beta? I went through it when server disconnect was an issue so I paid no mind.

I routinely hit 10+ km in my cruisers still on DD as well, but the Kawachi has something wrong with it. 10.7km range, 21km/h and 0 accuracy. It absolutely is broken/free dmg.

Well stock yes.

No, fully upgraded. Stock is 8.9km.

Yeah Kawachi is a apain. Only ship I ever got 0xp in, because we blitzed the enemy and I literally never got close enough to fire. Meanwhile, with C Hull, Myogi is actually pretty good. Next to no dispersion. Possible to one salvo cruisers :).

this ship is werid, seems to be everythign that japanese bb's are normaly not.

its slow, its got insanely fast turret traverse, very good stealth thats comparable to cl's, terible range.  I have no idea why this boon clone exists in the japanese tree. that said, its not too terible, and infact seems to be better then the south c on the us side, although that might not be saying much.

the good news is the myogi is fantastic, being far faster, and getting much more range, really putting the firesupport back in. only downside is the small number of guns you have (6) but its accuracy makes up for it.

ether way, I feel that tier 3 bb's should get limited mm because they can not hold there own well at all in tier 5 matches and usually get destroyed in tier 4/

Well bro, you appear to be experiencing normal dispersion for Kawachi.  I love Kawachi because she was my very first BB and all.  But she does have this hitting problem.  She was my worst hitting ship the first time around it CBT at 31%.  This time around in OBT she is my worst hitting ship at 31%.  All the other numbers improved but it's still difficult to hit the broadside of a mountain while leaning against it.

You'll love Myogi, particularly when you get the AA module.  The speed is great!  Getting used to only having 6 guns and only 2 of them in front can be tricky but her speed helps a lot.

Good hunting out there,

bo

Karachi has short range, and can usually only aim 6 guns at a target. Since it's also slow it often ends up fighting at its maximum range — all of that makes its guns ineffective even by BB standards.

Myogi gets a little better, and Kongou is probably my favorite ship in the game.

It's terrible when a St. Louis can decide the engagement range.

I'm passed the Krapachi now, but seriously, landing all around a target at 4km is broken.

Totally hated low US BBs too... Any CA can kill all sub t5 BBs with HE.

i missed a full broadside at 3.3 km on an opposing Kawachi, all 8 shells either landed short or long. I sold the Kawachi after that

It's true, this thing is painful to play; especially when RNG isn't on your side.  As soon as I get enough XP for the tier 5, the Kawachi is going to be insta-sold and gone from my port for good.
