The BB is fadeing away.

As you can see in this picture it looks like everyone is realizing how bad BBs suck and are moving to world of cruisers. I my self gave up on BBs for CVs. Posting because I saw a post about how until people stop playing BBs so much nothing will change well now people are not playing BBs slowly fadeing away. What do you guys think?

The same has already happened to Destroyers. Maybe the next patch they will rename the game to World of Cruisers.

A cruiser is not a hard counter to a BB.  It can burn a BB to death, but a good BB player can take the cruiser out in two salvos.

 

The only time cruisers annoy me is when I am being focused on by several ships.  That rate of fire can overwhelm me and I can't shut down the sources fast enough.

see my que screen looks different .... usualy 60 BB's 30 CL/CA and 8 DD's. But I'm driving the Myogi so maybe at higher tiers this is happening more.

However, I have taken down a bb in a cruiser.

Well, I may be new to WoW...But, I can say, without a doubt, I love to play my BB. I have made it to the New York, and I play it a lot. I do like the cruisers too. But, as long as I can play my BB, and it isn't tied up "in battle", I will play it before I play my cruiser. And, in most cases, from my personal experience so far, Cancervor's depiction is what I normally see too. (Even though he could have left out his colorful banter at the end of his post) Maybe it has something to do with the time you play? Just a guess...Anyway..BB's FTW, I say...

I'm certainly playing mine, and I don't think they're half as bad as everyone makes them out to be (so far).

Pretty much this. It takes longer on BBs and with their less forgiving nature players generally perform worse in them. Then again I've seen some bad players already up to T8/T9 in BBs so they're out there.

Im sorry but tier 4 and 3 is not a relevant post mostly because you need to play BBs to get to CVs and you will see more BBs in that tier because that's where all the new plays jump right in to when they start the game but how many of them keep going down the tree once they hit around tier 6 and find out how bad BBs are? that's where you see my post of only 7 BBs and 36 cruisers.

The high cruiser count have alot to do with the number of Premium Cruisers T5 and above(Murmansk, Atlanta and Atago are very popular) . The  economy is a big strain on everyone and a lot of people play Premium ships often to make credits, like this:

 

Once WG started introducing more Premium Battleships instead of taking them away(Warspite), the MM count at high level won't look as lopsided.

0449 is the First Cruiser Kill - 2 Citadel Hits, 4 normal hits (out of 12 -50% accuracy) and one dead cruiser

0682 is Second Cruiser kill - 1 Citadel hit only on this one, but another dead cruiser

0171 is Third Cruiser kill - 3 regular hits only, but again, another dead cruiser

 

0961 is the after battle damage report.  Only 38 hits out of 206 fired so typical poor BB accuracy but hey I managed to kill 3 cruisers and a BB and do 65,781 damage with that poor accuracy.

 

Hmmm.....

High Kill Count - Check

High Damage numbers - Check

 

Seems BBs are doing fine to me despite low accuracy.

when I queue late at night you'll be lucky to see 2 cruisers in a high tier game, its all battleships with cvs and maybe 1 dd

 

Also, for theories sake lets just say OP's anecdote rings true, are you surprised all the garbage players would gravitate towards cruisers? its far less punishing having 8 second cooldowns vs 30

Gotta remember that this game is still an mmo, and mmo's rarely have perfect balance. there will always be one class or another that is a bit op compared to the next, and expect the op class to change over time, accept this as a given.
