Where is the citadel on the Warspite?

To finish off a night of gaming, I decided to take my stock New York into co-op.  There was a player who brought in a Warspite and therefore there was a Warspite on the enemy team.  I ended up meeting the Warspite in a 1 vs 1.  It started as a mid range fight but ended up in a brawl.  I managed to sink him without taking much damage but I didn't land a single citadel hit?  Where is his citadel?

IF she is angled a bit she has a ton of armour :) other than that should be where they all are AFAIK

The general rule of thumb for citadels I've found is under the big gun turrets and under the stacks, at the waterline.

Warspite has heavily armored citadels. They're beneath turrets and midship along waterline like any other ship. You may have hit one  but it only registered as a regular hit because you didn't pen it.

Next to the tea room.

The Tea room is actually the best protected area, I mean screw the engines and magazines without tea nothing matters anymore.

Sorry I am Dutch and hence gentlemen is not something which applies, I do share their love for tea though :)

I was aiming for the usual spots and hitting them.  The Warspite was angled though.  So that may be why.  I was trying to maneuver to get a flat shot on him but he kept on matching my turns.  Dang Skynet.

Oddly enough, there is a really soft section at the aft of the ship, land an AP shell where you would think to hit the rudder/engine and you will be rewarded with some large health drops.

I recall that over on SEA server, players had observed that the Warspite's citadel is actually mostly below the water, making it hard to hit.  But the general location (center of the ship from a broadside) remains the same.

All the jokes about the tea room and I'm actually drinking tea on break at work. Heh.

The Warspite's armour is something that's pretty amazing.  In Battleship duels it holds it's own quite well because of it, especially when angled.  Not getting Citadels on it with the 14" guns of the New York is pretty unsurprising.  You'd probably need 15" or 16" guns with some hefty penetration to punch through it reliably.

True Story: Many British long range bombers had insta tea, and a foldout table. Often the tea would be warmed on any warm surfaces available (as said bombers were usually sub Zero inside).

The warspite is a good brawling battleship because it's citadel is very hard to get hit as long as you know how to aim its 15 inch guns.
