492 [JOLLY] Bl4ckBaron [JOLLY] Alpha Tester 578 posts 6,237 battles Report post #1 Posted July 14, 2015 (edited) Hello all, I feel that WoWS is a good game and can easily become a great game. I know this is OBT but what worries me is that I never see more than 15.000 - 16.000 players online in US server. In EU and RU the numbers are much less. All OBT's I have participated before in other games were much more populated than this one. WG needs to do something huge to kick the interest in the game in the next few weeks or this game will follow the path of WoWP. One of the mistakes WG made with WoWP was thinking that a lot of tank players would also play warplanes. And they are doing again the same mistake with WoWS. This is a complete new game with an almost different audience than WoT. WG shouldnt try to capitalize only on WoT and be miser about the WoWS early rewards. WG needs to open their pockets a bit to gain momentum for WoWS. If I was WG I would: 1. Introduce the German and British tech trees asap; 2. Create the clans system (Fleet System seems more appropriated) for WoWS to keep people playing together for doublons and glory; 3. Launch an Invite Friends Program with good rewards for both the invited player and the player who invited. If someone invites a lot of friends and they stay for a significant number of battles they should be repeatedly rewarded, not just only once; 4. Run events offering low tier unique ships of all types, consumables, equipment to increase interest; 5. Increase the marketing effort to make WoWS more visible everywhere; 6. Unify all WG accounts to bring more WoT and WoWP (not many left) players to WoWS by using common account resources; 7. Launch several contests for players to design new camouflages and maps, create visual guides for ships and map tactics, create in-game footage videos with great action sequences, etc. Prizes should be good enough to convince a lot of people to participate. Thank you and best regards, Red Edited July 14, 2015 by Bl4ckBaron

WoWP took outsourcing, bad marketing, and a host of idiotic decisions to be where it is now... Which admittedly is a cycle of death (to few players for a battle, so people leave, making the situation worse). 15-16k in this region isn't bad. Remember that's ONLINE- many people play an hour a day. So it could be 50-100k logging on a day. Or 15k that log in for 23.5 hours . And Ru has more numbers. They are the big dogs... Thank you and best regards, Red EU reached 40k during prime time in more than one occasion. Once there was even the queue(CT style) due to the sheer amount of people on. I don't know how many people there are in RU during prime time but, as far as i recall, they were less than EU(ironically enough). Before stating things please. Besides WG will surely do that stuff in time.

I have found the numbers at the times I play to be dwindling from when OBT launched. Not sure if it's 'cause for concern' but it's gone from 18K to 12K pretty quick on NA server by my watch. I agree. But also would like to see the other proposed nations like Italy, France and Spain in the game as well as soon as possible. Also the minor powers which they were talking about adding. 2. Mixed feelings on this option. 3. Sounds too much like Facebook/Android style of gimmick. I'm thinking one MMO has tried something similar (Star Trek Online?) and that slowly started killing the game because it started placing roadblocks in front of players in which you either had to cough up the money or stop playing the game because you couldn't advance to any new content or ships. I would stay far away from that idea. 4. Give away free ships immediately after proposing a payware scheme? Doesn't make sense. 5. Bingo. Especially in the US and Western markets. 6. I don't know why they haven't done that already with WoWS. But a separate gold/doublon system simply kills that ever happening. But I suppose that is ok so long as everything else could possibly be shared. But WoWP doesn't share anything other than gold with WoT. So... 7. I'm sure most of that is already in the works and coming in time.

No clue on whether Doubloons and Gold will ever be unified, but as the prices are similar I hope so.

At the end of the day, the biggest problem with WoWp was that it wasn't fun and there were many alternatives that were better. WoWs has neither of these problems.
