Post your best! I am really , really loving my Omaha. I remember from CBT it was great fun, but I thought that it was gonna be a bit less so than the Phoenix because of it's shorter max range and a tad slower speed. But I was wrong and it has been one of my best ships along with the Kuma and New York. Post your best Omaha game! Let's all worship the almighty Omaha! Yeah I found you kind of have to play it like a bigger US Destroyer and try and stay at the max range of your guns while fighting multiple enemy. Try and keep moving in different directions so they don't have easy shots on you. And always use AP except for against DD's and US BB's. I love fighting other cruisers just because the AP is so good at hitting citadels. Most other cruiser players spam HE and they wonder why i can destroy them in 2 salvos. LOL. I knew their had to be other captains out there who were loving the Omaha and doing well in it. I can't wait to get the Cleveland! Anyone want to start a Omaha division and totally wreck house?!?! I will be getting on later this evening so let me know! It is currently 1:30 PM here ( Eastern US Time) and I will be on from 6 PM til 11:30 PM. Would love to have some other players to play with. Edit : To make it easier I will be getting on in around 5 hours and will be on for around 5 hours LOL. Hope to see some of ya than! That is what I heard as well. They must be so used to the advantages of the Murmansk they suck in it LOL. What is funny is I thought because premiums were supposed to be in between a stock vehicle and a fully upgraded one of the same tier , that I thought they would eventually nerf the Murmansk because it is better than it's regular tree counterpart the Omaha. Yet it seems they are going the opposite route and buffing the Omaha. Wargaming logic at it's finest folks. Working as intended? I can never get in close enough to launch torps without getting wrecked the crapout of me. In fact, whenever I target a BB at any range I always get citadelled in return. And I don't even need to be at max range of my guns, I get citadelled even way before detecting who the hell shot at me. Also, I'm always working the rudder overtime to try and evade enemy shots, to no avail. It's either multiple fires, or citadels, or rudder jams, or engine kills ... Yes, hard lefts and hard rights, sometimes even rotating in the same spot, trying to hide behind islands, running away wiggling the tail ... enemy shells seem laser guided. Against BBs? Forget it! I take even 1 shell from a full salvo, and it's 85% guaranteed that it's a citadel. More than once I was lucky enough to find BBs around the corner of an island, only to be citadelled by secondary shots and sunk before even aiming the torps. I'm running a fully upgraded Omaha (hull C), and it seems to me that the enemy cruisers always do more damage than me: if I use HE it averages 700 dmg per shot, the enemy ship barely takes a dent to their HP bar, if I use AP over 75% of the shots bounce with no damage dealt, with a very rare citadel hit ... Yes, against St Louis, Phoenix and other Omahas. Only once or twice I faced Clevelands, needless to say that it chewed me up and spat me down easily. Actually, the St Louis is my nemesis, I have a really hard time killing them. When I survive a one-on-one with a St Louis, my Omaha is a complete wreck with only a couple thousand HP left, if that much. And citadels against them? Nope. I hate the Omaha, it takes a fart from any BB or even a cruiser and it falls apart like a card castle in a windstorm. As expected from a scout cruiser, but come on! Even a DD is sturdier than this! I'm not saying to nerf this or buff that, just balance the ships and give the nubs a fighting chance FFS! inb4 GIT GUD NUB LEL No, really. Please tell me how you do it. Sail at angles, either to or away and turn after you fire or see incoming fire then turn back.
