solo carry?

I had just enough battles in CB to get my gift ship.  Now that there will be no wipe going forward, I am paying more attention to my stats.  Im curious if there are any players out there that consistently carry their team to victory playing solo...?

 

...and a followup question - how is that best done?

It's alot harder to do than in WoT's. And in a ship you absoutly love and find easy to sail.

I just don't care about my stats to let it worry me. I just play to the best of my knowledge and the rest will follow. Tip: Don't play like a noob. Always be aware of what goes on around you and you will be ok.

I think thats the hardest lesson for most people to learn in this game. Its not about the solo carry. It used to be in WOT that many older drivers hung back waiting for most of the opposition to be crippled before coming out and gathering all that paid for by others experience. Do that here and you find yourself sinking real fast. But yeah, there are some really good players here who will sink four or five opposition per game. but really, its about winning the game as a team thats important..

I wish. I know you well (well, we talked at least XD) from World of Warplanes. I was nukemind back then... anyway no. This game is way more team dependent than either WoT or WoWP. For one, while you can launch evasive maneuvers, you will get hit. Another is DoTs like Fires, and the fact that everything is balanced versus others. In a DD you may have an easy time vs BB and CV but will be slaughtered by a CL/CA. In Beta I had a .57 kills a game... so I am obviously not the best. Right now I have a 1.40 but thats because I have played only 10 games, and I decided to use Co-Op to go from stock to full, and then fight as much as possible per tier so I don't "out grow" my skill level.

I think you'd do best to just focus on your game and how to best help your team win. You start trying to think about "solo carry" or whatever, you're libel to start making poor decisions and become a detriment to your team.

Right now, there are only two classes of ship that might be capable of solo-carries; CVs and DDs.  That said, trying to carry a game by yourself is much harder than in WoT, and might not even be consistently possible.  So many of the tactics that exceptionally good players (unicums, if you will) in WoT use to carry teams to victory just don't work in WoWS.
