5 [SIMP] KarlHungus [SIMP] Alpha Tester 12 posts 15,159 battles Report post #1 Posted July 10, 2015 I have been following development now for a while and always assumed that not including the Yorktown class (CV-5, CV-6, and CV-8) of USN carriers was simply an oversight that would eventually be addressed. For crying out loud, the USS Enterprise (CV-6) was the USN ship that earned the most battle stars in WWII. When the Saipan was removed, I assumed that they were about to rectify this oversight... but I was sadly mistaken. Instead, we received the Bogue, which isn't even a CV it is a CVE. For those that don't know CVEs are smaller, less armored, slower carriers whose mission was to escort convoys not engage fleets of enemy capital ships. The principal advantage of CVEs was what since they typically used the hulls of cargo ships or oilers, they were less expensive and quicker to produce, both points which have no bearing on the scope of this game. What I am proposing is this: 1) Scuttle the Bogue class. 2) Move the Independence back to T5 and the Ranger back to T6. 3) Introduce the Yorktown class at T7. If WG wishes to keep CVEs in the game they can be used as premiums as they fit the description of a premium vehicle (not as capable as the same tier vehicle but give more XP and credits).
