Is it fair to say that if there is a CV on one side, the other side should have at least one CV?

I have seen many battles where one side had a carrier(s) but the other side had none, and not a single one resulted in a win for the team that had no carrier.

One team having a carrier and the other team not having one is a huge advantage. I understand why Wargaming wants sides to be unequal and I agree. But this pushes it too far. I think that if there is a carrier on one side, there should always be at least one carrier on the other.

FULL DISCLOSURE: This is based entirely on low tier battles where ship based AA is nearly non-existent.

I think Carrier balance between tiers is a worse MM problem than only one side having a (or more) carriers.

You know how you can still put up a fight against a higher tier battleship, cruiser, or destroyer?

A single tier difference between carriers means the lower tier carrier is completely worthless. Higher tier fighters will chew up lower tier planes in seconds and then he keeps them near you, just outside AA range, to catch the replacements when they take off.

It's mostly the lower tiers that lack AA where the problem is for non-CVs.  Once you get up there CV power falls off pretty drastically.  The biggest issue, as already stated, is in a CV vs CV with tier differences.  I've seen a single fighter group chew up every group a cv has because of the power scaling of them.

Unless the lower tiered carrier player is VERY good, the higher tier carrier can act with near impunity. So the team with the lower tier carrier is effectively down a ship.

When a competent carrier player is in one of those matches it becomes clear how crummy it can be.

However when you have 2 carriers a side and the other team has none....lol.

I had one the other night where my team had 2 tier 5s and the other had one tier 4.  It was pretty lopsided.
