WHY THE F am I over Penning on EFFing CRUISERS now?

What the hell. Last 2 matches I was overpenning like hell on CAs. In a low tier BB no less (NY's 12 inchers)

 

With a 12inch gun even.  DDs I can see, but cruisers too? Why is that even possible (yes I know historical reasons)

 

So many damn frustrating things with BB gameplay. Its like WG is actively trying to drive players out of the class entirely. 

 

I should just stay in cruisers and DDs, its so much easier and less frustrating.

Which cruisers? Remember CA does not mean the ship carries heavy armoring, just guns larger then 6.1" up to 8.0"

Where are the shells hitting? What type of shell are you using? Are they consistently over penetrating on the citadel? Or are you hitting the super structure or mostly stern or mostly bow? Are you over penetrating mostly US ships, Japanese ships, or both?

 

Remember that the damage model for warships is not armored box like it was in tanks. A few feet on the hull means the difference between hitting an armored area and not. Also, dont use AP against a less-armored target. Use HE against a less armored target.

I have gotten over pen's in cruiser on battleship with the Furutaka or what ever its called

You're shooting a Cruiser with a Battleship, it's kinda expected to happen.

I know all the reasons. I'm just venting.  So much frustration with BB gameplay piling up in recent patches.

 

Its like I'll play a round or two in DDs, then two in CAs, just so I can stomach one in a BB. Shouldn't be that way. All classes should be enjoyable.

Shooting American cruisers seems to overpen easily.

On the other hand, shooting Japanese cruisers with AP tend to have....spectacular results.

They were all Jap CAs.  Which is why I rage quit. I was thinking to myself "What ELSE has WG done to BBs now?"   obviously not a ninja patch, just RNGesus fukking me in the [edited].
