USS Colorado

Would be nice to hear something from Wargaming regarding this abortion of a ship. They were real fast to make a fake hull option for the Myogi. The Colorado right now is universally known as a garbage ship. The New Mexico is pretty much better in every possible way. Dispersion which for some reason is greater on the Colorado than the New Mexico becomes even worse when you come down to the simple fact it has 4 less shells to fill the now larger dispersion bubble. This makes the Colorado shotgun firing method that much greater a problem. The Dual Guns of the Colorado if anything should have a smaller dispersion factor than the New Mexico and other Triple Gun Turrets.

 

On top of that the Colorado has a poor 1.8 Rounds a Minute capability which further neuters an already ball less ship. It gives up significant firepower, gets a worse spread and does not even get any kind of rate of fire compensation. Wargaming could not even be bothered to give it its proper late war remodel. Have to sell a Premium version would be my guess on that one. Something needs to be done with the ship. Either give it badly needed buffs or remove it entirely and get a suitable replacement.

I am trying really hard to tough out the rest of the Colorado grind, but the dispersion is just killer. I'm having to adjust my aim point away from the waterline of ships and fire center mass just to get some hits.

Top it off it's shells while being 16 inch shells are basically inferior in just about every capacity to the NM 14 inchers.

 

Really wish they'd made the Colorado the US version of the Warspite and called it a day. Would be a decent ship then.

You forgot that it has less HP than the tier 5 Japanese BB, and 15000 less than Nagato.

Hated the grind during cbt and with the higher tier prices in obt I'm dreading the moment when I start grinding thru the Colorado again.

Indeed and based on the formula they claim the Colorado should have basically the same health. 32600 displacement for Colorado and 32700 for Nagato before refits. Nagato should obviously end up ahead after  the final refits but they should not have the kind of gaps they do

New Mexico really is an amazing ship. The Colorado is just I could go on a profanity filled rant it is just that bad. New Mexico could be a cruiser killing beast. Colorado is lucky to ever hit a cruiser let alone citadel with its complete garbage spread

In CBT I went one on one against a Yamato with the Colorado and Won.

Well,the AA on the last hull is quite potent so it should be nerfed to uselessness. It would complete the derpyness of the ship.

Don't worry its derpy compared to the final refit the class was intended to receive on all ships. 4 Dual 5"/38 on each side of the superstructure. 40 40mm bofors, 50 Oerlikon 20mm

I was legitimately hoping that would be the final hull upgrade but it would most likely make the ship too op and we would have to nerf the Colorado into oblivion to get it. Glad I no longer have that ship add it was a truly miserable grind.

Sunk Craporados comfortably in my Wyoming. The New York vs Craporado, is like hitting an infant in the face, so much better is NY.
