They only had one class of carrier the Graf Zeppelin class 4 planned, 2 built but neither saw completion or operational status, plus it could only hold 43 Aircraft compared to the US Essex class that could hold 110.

So m not sure how they are going to set up the German carrier tech tree section

yup.

so when the germans come out with theirs... Its probally gonna recieve buffs/nerfs because historical accuracy isnt all this game is about. I am thinking both will hold "near" the same amount of aircraft, but the germans with less aircraft will get better aircraft or something.

If there's only one class, it's a good candidate for a premium ship.

Yeah that what i was thinking, it might play a bit like french arty when it first came out?

Having a carrier version of the Focke-Wulf FW190 would be sooooo awesome. Not that they were ever planned, but if the Brits managed to build a carrier based Spitfire (the Seafire) i'm sure the Germans would manage to do its with their best fighter plane. (ignoring the Me. 262)

It might be a bit OP though... :P

haha only slightly OP, and i doubt the 262 could even get off the carrier deck! lets just say that it wasn't even close to VTOL

Yeah, making a Me 262 into a carrier version would be ambitious, but steam catapults might work there. ;)

But thinking of it, the only carrierplanes the Germans had planned were the Me. Bf109T and various versions of the Stuka for torpedo- and dive bombing...and it may be big, but i think Kurt Tank (the designer of the FW190) could have made his high performance fighter into a carrier version. Would make sense balance-wise to cope with the later IJN,USN and RN carrier planes.

(especially as the Me Bf109T was based on one of the first versions of the Bf109...which was inferior to pretty much everything the allies had at the end of the war)

Yeah, I'm really wondering how the German carrier tree will play out. I think KGB confirmed there will be one...but... I supposes WG may have accese to the Bundeswehr archives or wherever the old records are kept.

Then there's the question of how the USSR carriers will look.
