I was thinking of a similar title like that. But I think #WarshipGate sounds better.

Guys, please calm down...

Toxicity and threats wouldn't help it only serves to de-humanize both sides from each other.. Making clear why were angry and presenting to them a logical argument will...

WG is run by arrogant pricks.  We have to burn the franchise down for them to learn.  Even then, they may still be in denial.

Don't we want to rebel AGAINST the Soviets?

It's a nod to the fact that it's a soviet ship.

I'll have a discussion once you drop the insults. Figurative threats of violence only serves to make this place worst off. I agree buyers should be compensated, but threats are not the best way to proceed.

toxicity is drawing attention to something we were told by two different developers that we were going to keep after paying for? I mean while a lot of people probably just paid the 1 dollar there are a bunch like me who also donated more so that code just came as part of the donation but its still pretty shady that we were told by two different representatives of this company that we would indeed keep what we bought and then a week went through and then "lol nope sorry not sorry we screwed you"

I am not threatening to do anything, not even figuratively.  The franchise will succeed or fail, and I as an individual have no influence over that.  What I am saying is they will only learn through defeat.  I believe that defeat will ultimately come, as it seems clear that WG is not going to honor its word or respect its customers.

So many alpha-tester flagged people white knighting for Wargaming on this issue. Sad. I can understand white knighting if people put down the game or cried about mechanics, art, etc, etc but this is about integrity, honesty and about Wargaming not ripping off their customers. Any sensible person would not white knight for the company over that. Not unless you are just being a troll.

They have to learn their lesson one way or the other, but choice of words can affect how one thinks.

I you are refering to me, I'm not going to defend WG for what they did. They ARE wrong and even if they did not intend carrying the stuff over, it was "promised" quite clearly. But from the data gathered we can pretty much be sure this would be a pretty stupid thing to do as a criminal scheme. I'm pretty sure it's an honest mistake that has been mishandled quite severely.

Again I would vouch for a recompense as much as anyone here.

I think some are still holding out hope that a sufficient amount of outrage will make WG see reason.  They can still salvage some respect, but the clock is ticking.

From the dev posts that I have read even prior to today, I wouldn't count on it.  They will look down on us whether we rabble rouse or not.

theft by fraud is illegal.

False advertising to gain is illegal

you can have them removed from the EU/US market, wont get much in class action..but it will be "a shot across the bow", to the game industry that gamers don't take this crap.

They are only giving part of what was promised.  I suggest now reporting the fraud to your State Authorities.   Why does WG believe the consumer laws do not apply to them?

Threats?

No.  Action to force them to live up to the item sold?  It's called Consumer Rights, and is Legal.  Why do you not want us to use our LEGAL Rights?

Wow...this is over one mistake.  I understand why you guys are angry, but what you people are doing is borderline insane...

Perhaps it's a generational think, but I have never considered sitting in front of a computer playing with pixel Tanks or Ships hours on end the most sane use of ones time. In other words, most gamers are nuts to begin with.

Think of it this way...

If WG was the BATFE and they were trying to take away gun rights - they would do it one exploitation at a time - chip away at your rights, and see how much they could get away with before a public outcry started.

WG is setting precedence by reneging on a package deal - which to some seems like a breach of contract or the service terms for which they paid towards. If nobody spoke out about it - they technically "got away with it" and it set precedence for them to do it repeatedly. They could literally say "Well, it's never bothered you before, so why should it bother you now? You should have called us out on it from the very beginning."

It's that cut-and-dry. Once precedence is set, once your rights are taken away (in this case consumer-rights is what's being argued here by and large) - they're VERY hard to get back.

...and just to be clear, I didn't buy that package, it doesn't effect me in any way, shape or form how it played out - but this isn't a case of one disgruntled customer, this is a multitude of them - and social media is a pretty toxic thing for developers when the tone turns quite negative.
