is it feasible for there to be a complete line in the tech tree fro british battle cruisers? the brits sure liked them and they made several good varients. i would love to play the hms tiger or the repulse. i would assume the hood would be the end tier and it would keep her out of the rn bb line.

Probably? I think they're in a pretty good position up through about T7/8. Beyond that is going to be paper designs... but that will be true of any potential battlecruiser tree(s). However, as Wargaming has elected to treat battlecruisers as essentially analogous to battleships, it wouldn't really matter if the last British BC was, say, Hood at T7, because BCs naturally kind of folded into fast battleships IRL anyway.

I don't see a Hood vs a Montana or a Yamato ending well for the Hood...

Yeah I agree, I don't think the Hood as Tier 10 would work out very well, its heavily outclassed by both Montana and Yamato. the Lion class (the ones that were planned but never completed) would be good as tier 10. Tier 7 I think would be good for it. Renown well this thing had some very thin armor, hell this thing's armor was so thin that she couldn't take the recoil of her own guns. so I think Renown would be good as Tier 5.

HMS Hood is an 'Admiral' class. Tier 7.

The problem with putting Renown into T5 is that the British have a clearly-analogous ship to Kongo in HMS Tiger... which is the obvious candidate for T5. The armoring on the Renowns is never going to be sufficient, but that's kind of the thing with genuine battlecruisers -- they just weren't well-armored ships, and need to be played differently from BBs, using speed to kite, pick off stragglers, and engage cruisers.

Yep, they will be fast, hard hitting and explode when hit once

Depends on where you hit 'em.

The simple fact of the matter is that the game doesn't do a very good job at all reflecting the vulnerability of un or low-armored ships when fighting BBs. Because, IRL, a couple of large-caliber shells would smash most light and even heavy cruisers. It would require a complete redesign of combat scenarios, roles, etc. to render BBs and carriers as realistically powerful, which means that we'll never see it.

Hood gets one shot by the Bismark every time they encounter in game, wouldnt that be something?

Many Germans will get high when that happens and then we will see Bismarck in every tier 8 battles.

This makes me sad. Their not using my ship's carrier conversion :(.

I have a feeling it's only a matter of time. They were too famous to leave them out forever.

If the battlecruisers stay at T3 it'll be hilarious, zipping all over the map dropping "15 shells on people.

I think its one gun per turret on the battlecruiser conversion.

No, just on Furious with experimental 18" weaponry, which proved too stressful for their fragile hulls to handle. They were only effective combatants as BCs when armed with 4 x "15.

The British battlecruiser lines can have three tier 10s (I3, K3, & H3)

All from the same tier 9.

I guess people forgot that it was the HMS Hood that was blown out of the water by the Bismark
