This is a player-base problem, not a map problem. WG can't control what players do. If players want to not accomplish the objective, then they can lose the battle. It's not a hard concept to go capture a base or support your team as they do so.

This map does promote teamwork, that's part of the beauty of it.  Eventually people will learn, it teaches some fundamental concepts: DD's fight for the Caps and harass ships trying to take them and the capital ships instead of just wandering off to the side of the map away from the caps.... Actually have to support their team actively.  Either you learn to play as a team and support others with goals and objectives in mind or you lose.  Can't just lemming train to the side, and blame others on this one, actually have to think and react constantly.

I love this map and mode.

Your bothkinda right but many of these maps have so many shot blocking islands and inlets that the rng advantage bb's have are lost.  I want islands just not at all 4 cap zones.  WG has tunnel vision for corridor fighting.  Best a BB can do is choose a cap zone and hold it, they cannot flex due ro mobility and lack of firing lanes.

I am totally with you on this. More open maps with weather, night or evening, high seas and other challenges. The island maps really do promote the wrong kind of play with this game

Nah, the only real surface ship action was in Guadacanal's slot, which was full of islands.  Otherwise it was all carriers, all the time.

Actually that is a widely held falsehood. There were many surface actions during the war and the Guadalcanal was not just a single action but several large actions. The biggest issue right now is having BB's on the same maps as CL's and CA's....It's an either or with those. DD's have a little better chance because of turn rates but consistently having 25%-30% of force comps being BB's is messing things up gloriously. Either that or give Cruisers something to beef them up. Right now they cannot survive and they are the most interesting of all the classes to play...With DD's being a really close second. Really close.

Not really a grip...more of a a "Hey fix this and we are golden....." I am sure people are tired of hearing it from me though...sorry....It's been a tough day to be a Cruiser driver since the patch on the 4th.

Since you asked.  I like Hot Spot best.  Both ways; with the single cap and the 5.  And yes I love the split spawn seriously.  It is a taste of the depth and complexity that some of us have been begging for.  I was in a match there this morning and it was extreme fun the capital ships supported the DD in the center that supported their support and several times went south and east and north to fend off the undisciplined attacking waves.  We were all talking and getting along in chat and working together and towards the end we were all talking about how much fun it was and what a great team it was and thanking each other.

It was Glorious!
