Microsoft can eat it. from what ive heard 10 is supposed to be pretty good, and dx12 will give a nice performance increase to most games by lowering CPU overhead. dont be so quick to judge, especially since M$ tends to swing from good to bad each generation. XP (good), Vista (bad), win7 (good). win8 (bad)...

325 Battleship_Unknown Beta Testers 305 posts Report post #8 Posted June 2, 2015 I do have some mixed feelings about it, of course. Obviously, at some point the Windows 7 train ride has to end. And, as this is free, one wonders if this is the opportune time to jump off, considering that -- eventually -- I'd be forced to leap regardless. I'm kind of ticked, though, because I went out of my way to get a new PC with windows 7 just to have this conundrum dropped into my lap. And, judging by reactions on the web, a lot of people don't know what to do.

I don't want to game on a I pad please, and yes I know Windows 8 has a option of making it look like Windows 7 but still. Don't like the direction MS is heading towards. 182 [WHS] TheBlackWind Beta Testers 1,073 posts 14,525 battles Report post #10 Posted June 2, 2015 I don't get the hate for Win 8. Have trouble finding the start button? It runs faster than 7 better than 7. I don't have a single game (and I have many) that worked better on 7 than 8. But anyway, as to the OP's question, I'll def be getting 10 but don't have it yet. I also like the things directx12 will do for games. 10 will be FREE so long as you get it in the first year and have 7 or 8.1. They will not charge you unless you want a new key. I will probably buy a new key anyway so as not to worry about the upgrade though.

116 Mason3ck Beta Testers 446 posts 300 battles Report post #12 Posted June 6, 2015 So I do use Windows 10, I am a developer tester. So far it is Way faster than the windows 8, as the live tiles are rehashed. The UI is splendid. Though "project Spartan" is currently slower than internet explorer XD. With it I can run whatever I want on my laptop within realistic terms. As for comparing it to windows 7, windows 7 isn't going to be as good as windows 10, being that new techniques have come out that improve how everything flows. If you have questions or comments, let me know.

I know it's been out for testing. I installed it on my laptop two days ago. No problems with any game so far. The new Start button function is great. However, my music sounds worse now. It sounds hollow with much less base, and I have excellent headphones. I don't know if this is because of Win10 or the new sound protocols for Win10.

13 VeegerTx Beta Testers 84 posts 803 battles Report post #25 Posted August 1, 2015 I beta this 10 in the Insider Program but ran it in a VM so it don't mess up my gaming system Upgraded a windows 7 Pro version and I chose not to keep anything so a clean system is what I got. I've been doing Unattended installs way back to November 03 I have an HP from 2011 but have upgraded a few thing in it, power supply, SSD, Radeon GPU and memory this is amazing I started playing WOT about Dec 2013 and always had a 75-80 ping even on a 10 mb DSL With Windows 10 it is now 35 ping in this game and WOT Its a keeper to me, boot in less than 10 seconds You have 30 days to roll back
