Hello everyone, I would like to start this post off by saying yes 3.1 is out and o man we have a lot to go over on this.

Okay well the very first thing i have seen is the new armor and shell systems they have its much better but if you didnt see there removed the armor numbers out of the stats of your ship personally its for the best...

So lets talk IJN CVs if you dont know it now you do tier 9 and 10 are not there most likely they are being rebalanced and will be added on a later day.  The new CVs i think are very well made and i love playing them.  Also for IJN the DDs torp reload was changed just a bit so they fire just a little faster.

Now for the US navy.  The US BBs are here and wow they are fun if you want a BB with AAA get the US BBs because at tier 8 it is amazing.  The clevaland once again reload change now fires at 6.0 R/M.  I have not played US ship but from what i was told they are very well made in the game. 

New map is Hot spot

Armor is a factor now in the game

HE is more effective

Flags are new they give abilities that last for only one game

AAA hits more planes and it looks cooler

New sinking animations

So thats about all i have found if you know something i dont know tell us below

i'll be live streaming the update and news later this week once i have played more of the US BBs and got IJN CV line done

My torp squads tend to run away, and I get put against Lexington's and Essex's in the same game in my Hiryu. Other than that, Fun :D

I'm liking the update. Armor, AP, and HE changes seem to be shaping up well.  IJN carriers *seem* to be balanced okay. A squadron of 4 torpedo bombers can take out half of a same tier battleship combat capacity if all four torpedoes hit. 

 

And yeah, some torpedo bombers I've had decided to go AWOL and fly away off the map. I've noticed this only happens during a torpedo strike.

I took more hits in my DD's than in my South Carolina. That ship is the epitome of Glass Cannon but it does get a little better. IJN CV's are interesting, my only complaint really is not the ships but my team. Every time I'm a CV my team goes hard left and hard right and It's kinda hard to support your team like that (not sure if I've won a match where team split like that) But yeah that's it really.

It feels like a lot of the changes that were in the weekend test were ignored and a lot of new ones came in unexpectedly so the test patch was actually a redundant waste of time. Smoke and CVs nerfed for no reason, fast firing CAs loaded with HE now setting multiple fires over several seconds, the test patch was actually a lot more balanced than this. Pretty big screw up imo, I hope they hot fix a lot of this soon.

They did change how the smoke works and overall I found it slightly less effective.

Off the top.

 

CV's got way nerfed to the point where it negatively affects the game play.

The St Louis which used to handle like a brick is now a sports car in terms of that they went a bit to far.

I don't like the new cannon sounds way to high pitched the booming of large caliber guns is gone.  WOT smaller caliber guns have more boom to them.

Also you do not hear when your being hit any more the crash of incoming shells hitting your ship is all but gone. This should just about be the loudest thing in the game with diring you cannons second.

AP was nerfed ya I agree in principle but it went to far where it now seems to ineffective in most instances. 

The matches are now much longer with less emphasis on team work.

 

Before the patch the game was very well balanced and fun to play, with a couple of BB's a  couple CV's and then a mix of CA's and DD's in each match, now it is world of battleships  half the team or more in battleships is not realistic balanced or fun, I find my self playing less since the patch and certainly less willing to spend money.

 

I hope WG can tweak some of these issues. And get things back on track.  It was fairly well balanced before and fun now not so much some issues were fixed but the game play over all has been drastically changed and not in a positive manner.

It SEEMS dead, anyway. The citadel laser beams seem have disappeared since the patch.

I think it's gone for now as I'm not taking nearly as many shots and my survival time is going up. I did have one guy try to suggest that the aim assist actually sped the game up and that is why I'm getting more draws now. Cheaters will go to any length huh.

To begin with,  they claim to have taken out aim mod.  No the didn't,  they just gave it to the bots in co-op.  It never fails...  I can be in a weaving dd 10km away and a bot will hit me with a full salvo and do critical damage every time,  yet...  you're lucky to have 1 out of 10 shots fired at 1km hit the broadside of a barn...

 

therefore BB guns are practically useless at range (which is supposed to be their strong point),  and judging by the way half your shots fly,  you'd think the barrel was shaped like a corkscrew....

 

Bugs, bugs galore...  lag has only gotten worse,  even more sound distortion than before,  and the most irritating bug yet...  is when your ship randomly turns toward your turret aim all by itself (which in most cases,  is towards some incoming torpedo's or into an island...)

 

the new sounds are.... quite frankly,  garbage.  guns sound something like a mix between an AK bolt stop and a 410 shotgun firing through a culvert... 

 

Armor?  what armor?  Wish a dev would explain to me how a shot fired at your bow can travel completely through a battleship and hit your rudder...

Personally the only opinion I have at the moment is that I want the old Queue. Far better to be able to see all ships that are playing no matter what the tier so I as a player can  see the level of activity amongst the tiers of ships that I am actively playing. Placing me into a queue where I only see what is available within that tier I am on limits my options to play.

My thought on USN CVs:

 

If USN CVs are going to be so gimped of strike capability, they really ought to increase the EXP gain on destroying enemy planes.

A few things that aren't in the patch notes.

  1. Every American Carrier has had all their researchable loadouts changed to be heavy DB.
  2. DB can be panicked by fighters causing them to drop over a much wider area. Same area size like it is when CL use their AA ability.
  3. Manual drop now drops in sort of a cone instead of a straight line.
  4. TB dropped torps now do much less damage.

From a heavy CV player's standpoint I rather hate 3.1
