So this thread popped up in the WoT off topic section about WoWs. The level of ignorance shown by the landlubbers towards warships is astounding.

Maybe it's a sign I've been hanging around here too long. :teethhappy:

That's nothing. I played NavyField some years back and I always had to facepalm whenever somebody made the suggestion of having the ships pivot around their rudders "like they do in real life."  Just one problem with that: ships don't pivot around their rudders, and such a thing is an impossibility if you think for even a moment about the physics involved. Heh. But then again, I speak as somebody who's had training and experience driving fat merchant ships and tugs. Most people don't have the benefit of that knowledge.

For all its faults and limitations, NavyField was a fun game and shiphandling was remarkably realistic, whether people believed it or not.

What the hell is "Frence"?  Oh I get it, either we should be called Franch if the country is named France, or we should rename the country Frence, if people who were born there are called the French.  I stopped reading there...

Well, I lied ... I read the next sentence that said that half of the French fleet fought for the Germans!  I guess somebody didn't read about the scuttling in Toulon...

We are few in number, but powerful.

PS can someone attack the OPs spelling because i need 20 battles on the NA server to do it and my computers stats are bad enough without huge ping

If you tried saying that sentence in the WoWs forum, you'd probably be taken apart.

I'm going to go over there and shred him myself.

We can't do anything before starting a strategic alliance with World of WarPlanes.  Only after having air superiority can we succeed.

Yes, absolutely, but we need to defend our airbases on land, those tankers cant touch our ships but we need to stop them giving propaganda on WoWP airfields

According to that WoT thread, Frence 'scouffled' most of their fleet at Toulon. I assume it means the Franch decided to turn their warships into giant souffles.

I always figured it would be loads of fun if the three primary Wargaming games' fan bases had something akin to the military's inter-service rivalries :teethhappy:

WoP would always lose though, since everybody and their dog can bash it for being inferior to War Thunder.

Not only that, snoopy, but there's also the fact that even though planes can travel in three dimensions, they're limited upwards by space, downwards by land, and horizontally by their fuel range (Ships have their fuel capacities, too, of course, but it's always been farther than a plane's, and nuclear-powered ships are capable of traveling for absolute decades without needing to restock fuel!). Additionally, they can only land on very specific areas of ground or water, while a ship can drop anchor virtually anywhere and let its boats tender to the nearest shore :teethhappy:

There's also the fact that planes keep you limited to a single position, while ships let you walk around a LOT of deck area!

If it was an attempt at a souffle then they need better cooks, as the souffle did not rise in that instance...it sank.
