Basically, just pick a semi-obscure vessel that, while it is of decent-to-high fighting quality, you think may be a bit too 'out there' to make it into the game. And no, this isn't a topic for posting minelayers, 1870s predreadnoughts or 1950s missile cruisers. I'm looking for boats that have a legit place in WoW's timeframe but simply might not make the cut because they either aren't iconic enough or are just out-there. My vote is France's cancelled Gascogne, the 1938 planned successor/upgrade to the Richelieus that would have sensibly redistributed the main armament (and done a much better job with the secondary battery). Unfortunately, the war intervened and she was never built. While I think she stands some chance of making it into the game as part of an upper tier French BB tree, it won't be for quite a while, and even then, it's not at all assured considering that she'd hardly be a huge upgrade from Jean Bart and Richelieu -- probably not enough of one to justify going up a tier. Really good looking boat, though. You have to admire those later French designs. They really departed from their WWI aping of the British BBs with their WWII stuff and developed a 'signature' look all their own.

It was a raider sinking a lot of ships in its life it carried 15 cm SK L/45 and could easily be a premium tier 2. http://en.wikipedia....cruiser_Pinguin Here is it disguised as a friendly looking to attack other ships. Look closely you can see the guns!

The first two I can understand, though they might make it into some kind of combined-EU tree. Why Wichita though? Its a clear upgrade over the precending New Orleans class, but lacking some of the newer stuff on the Baltimores. Seems like an ideal bridge between the two to me. Its also an interesting ship for a cross between CA and CL branches, as the Brooklyn and Cleveland were based on the same hull. Also, as you said, it's a bridge between designs. It'd be a nice premium. Other than that I don't see it in game much.

Different main guns and new AA weapons increased its anti-air capabilities. Post war upgrades saw the addition of new sensor systems, increased ASW abilities and a new main gun and anti-air layout. I can see it as a premium vessel, but that be it. http://i1310.photobu...zps343f1e38.jpg

The Germans had some at Jutland. HMS Carmania and SMS Cap Trafalger. Ocean liners converted to armed merchant cruisers. The Carmania was part of the squadron that was hunting the Cap Trafalger and the Carmania was the ship to find her. Carmania sinking the Cap Trafalger.
