New in 12.2: How to "HideInBattleStatus"!

Hello everyone!

A cool piece of coding was done behind the scenes for Update 12.2.  You can now hide your in-battle status in the chat window if you'd like~

What are the "swords" I'm talking about?  You can see them on your Contact list when someone you know is in battle:

Most players won't see much need for this option, but Streamers can disable the "swords" appearing if they'd like to avoid unwanted attention following them into their matches.

How To Do The Thing!:

We'll have a Mod in the Modstation which will provide this, but that hasn't gone live just yet.  So, I'll show you the direct way that you can do this! 

(This is editing a XML file in your directory.  If you don't feel tech-savvy, feel free to wait for the Modstation Mod!)

Open an XML Editor of your choice.  I'm using Notepad++ because it's a widely used software that is free~

1) Open the "preferences.xml" file that is in your World of Warships game directory:

The file opens and looks like this!

I'm going to add a line of text inside the <ui> area.  The line is

<hideInBattleStatus> True </hideInBattleStatus>

Then Save and you're done!

Now, when you click the Battle button, there won't be any swords next to your name!

What would be nice is to have a way to show you offline and not in the game at all. Sometimes you just want to play without being bothered by anybody including those in your clan.

Update:

For those that have gotten ModStation to update, the mod is live~

NA still seems to have a mirror that hasn't updated, so the direct editing method in the OP is still the way to go.

Does the LootBox Crane Remover do what I think it does? Does it remove the animation for getting the containers??? Is this the first mod I'm ever getting for this game?

Is there a way to get that to happen by editing the .xml?

Yes, it does exactly what it says it does. The lootbox drops from the sky onto the deck without the annoying animation. 

There's also another mod that auto collects these for you based on your last pick. I autocollect more coal containers, then open at the end of the month.
