Suggestions for operations/scenarios

With the release of the new devblog, I believe the following changes would make ops more enjoyable.

Instead of random, rotate the queue (either in order or random) every 5 or 10 minutes so that players know what they are going into but also don't get the same op 2-3 times in a row as well as providing more variety for players. This would also allow for wolfpack with the ship restriction to be available for matchmaking. With this, Choosing an op could be eliminated and replaced with difficulty instead.

Suggested difficulties

Easy mode for t5-6 only: using only the old t6 ops with the enemies being the same as before the rework (ishizuchis in aegis, hosho in raptor, ect.). XP being about what it was befor/is now for full t6 div, around 6-7k xp pool for all players.

Normal: the current ops, but t7-8 only, keeping the current xp

Hard mode: 9s for now, maybe allow 10s later once more superships have been introduced and can be implemented as enemies so players can face even further uptiered ships from the current ops. Also an increased difficultly like at the start of the rework/in the ops rework public test so that the fail rate is higher. +20% bxp to the current rate because the fail rate should be higher, but better rewards would make the effort worth the risk since op defeats have worse xp payout for coop matches and go much longer.

Having separate selectable queues would also allow Halloween ops to be easily added as a selectable queue. 

In addition, if cross server play works well, there will be enough players to fill out all the queues without having longer wait times.

Good suggestions! However I don't believe WG will implement them as they have previously demonstrated outright contempt for PvE players.

They simply do not care.

with pve being as popular as ranked, and not time gated, there is reason for that to change, especially since they mention they were going to start working on more pve stuff in said dev blog

In the past I've suggested that the Scenario Operations have an hourly rotation, which is randomly "shuffled" at midnight, or perhaps at dawn, so that there is variety in the schedule while players can "know" which operation they're about to enter.

The timing of the "taking turns" among operations is a negotiable item, subject to being tweaked as usage data becomes available, I suppose.  :-)

Pssh, yeah when was this (one, two, three years ago?) and what dev blog? Proof please.

I remember a dev blog that came out just before Missouri was re-released that said "hurr, durr, we're working on more PvE" but it never came. What we got was random ops and a re-opening of all the previously-existing operations. That's not "more", that's unrestricted access to content we already had.

Just face it: much as we'd like them to, they're never going to make more PvE stuff.

Thanks, this gives me a lot of hope. I'm not a PvP player so you'll never catch me in Randoms unless someone's stolen my account or someone has a gun to my head, but I will play PvE.

Operations and Co-Op are my mainstays, and the news that we can bring T9 or even T10 ships into Ops is great. (Imagine a legendary op full of T9s and T10s like Yamato, Montana, Missouri, etc.!)

since I mainly play ops, there is a big chance i have been in one of your games.

Well, if I run into you I'll certainly call it out.

 

Sadly, I am only going to be in this game for a few more months at best. Just until I get and screenshot the few ships left on my "shopping list" - namely the Tier 10 Japanese carrier Hakuryu and the Supercarriers Sekiryu and United States - for my Legends Fleet virtual museum.

Unless they add the SenToku-class aircraft carrying submarines to the game between now and when I finish getting the cash for the carriers, then I'll be staying for that Supership. I will also be returning if and when the SenToku-class are added, but after that, I'm done for good.

Have no Idea what all this is about. Though you wanted some ideas to battle scenarios, If that was in here some where, Try the battle of Salvo Island from the Guadalcanal campaign. The real one, with real ships.
