I hate HE spewing CA/DDs more - especially from concealment.  Farrrrrrrrrr worse for the game.  At least you can kill subs and Dev Strike then and they HAVE to surface but killing HE/torp spammers in concelment far, far, far harder and pretty much impossible unless they happen to be near death already..

Oh, don't worry. The sub lovers will be here sticking up for how great they are. Also, WG is "collecting data". This will make it unenjoyable for a while longer.

As it stands now BB's have standoff range on Cruisers and can delete them at will. Worse if there are two of them and you get caught in a crossfire.

As it stands now a stealthy torp DD can launch torpedoes from safety at will. Worse if there are two of them launching on you at the same time.

As it stands now fire spamming cruisers can burn you down an overwhelm your damage control. Worse if there are two of them lighting you up nothing you can do.

As it stands now CV's can spot the whole map and focus you down when you are alone. Worse if there are two of them dropping you at their pleasure. 

Worse we will not even talk about magical health printing heals and how un-historically accurate guns are, fantasy.

...and to make it worse for you...when I'm spamming torps and pinging everything in sight (just like you described)...I'm not submerged, I'm running on the surface. So even if within range, the ASW strike is pretty much meaningless. In fact, you would do better to lob a salvo at a sub instead of an ASW attack...if you happen to connect, you can hurt it either way (on the surface or at periscope depth).

Befriend a DD player or be yourself the DD player... Capital ships always were deployed with a screen of light/escort ships, where are yours?

Well, if you call yourself Target_1 then I guess Serb was right and the game plays you. lol 

I wanted to add that it is a really good idea to play wide rather than deep in a WG game. The more choices you have in port the more freedom you have. Having a large fleet with a lot of variety means you can always support or counter the current Meta as you see fit. This game and business model requires that the game always changes. It is certainly OK to have favorites (mine is Tirpitz) but please play every ship type to at least a little bit of proficiency.

subs suck a lot, but we should all agree that cv's are far worse as they are able to literally demolish you from anywhere without putting their ship at risk

90% of the time, subs don't make it that far back. His example applies to BB's that push up and makes themselves a big target because they are actually trying to have fun and not be islands with guns.

I don't get hit often.

A DD can counter a Sub or at least block it, don't blame on the ship the player shortcomings. A DD+BB acting together can totally murder a Sub.

@paradat, @Arlskandir, horse puckey!

1) Most DDs don't have the speed to catch up to a sub and if they get near the sub out-maneuvers them with hyperspeed deeks.

2) The Depth Charges are rendered so weak due to the damage mitigation/saturation gimmick that it takes multiple runs at the sub to do any appreciable damage.

Other than suiciding by running over the sub, not a fun of engaging gameplay.

Have I been in a sub?

No, I don't think there is a deep clean strong enough to make me feel clean if I did. Too many oily gimmicks!

I think we should put CV and Subs in their own game mode. 6 CV per side 6 Subs per side and let them duke it out and the rest of us can be in our game mode without them.

You already have that game mode available. It's called Tier I.

I don't mind subs in game.  I own 2 of them.  I did however, have a game tonight that had 6 subs in it. That, I have to admit, was not fun...

Yeah, and a sub, a fast firing radar cruiser and a CV can totally murder a DD and a BB acting together.

While bringing more guys to a fight is the best counterplay, it isn't really the point.
