when does the ship list update for the santa containers for the 2022 ships?

Wondering if should use coal now on coal ships or wait for guarantee drop if they are in santa.

You may need to wait that long. I expect a dev blog article by mid November that will describe the event in detail. At least they did that last year.

Actually, I am wondering about this year's "B" ships.  I am hoping for something I can use.

and they announced the B ships back on the 30th September in the Dev blog (and live streams)

So, almost 2 months before they go on sale/Black Friday.

Maybe that suggests WG will release the updated Santa Crates contents Soon(tm) ?

My guess, maybe a week or two into this Update.

As best I can tell, the new Black ships have NOT been added to the crates.  You can buy them, or wait until next year's crates.

Likely the same with Santa's Gifts.

If you wait, which is generally good advice, be careful.  The Coal/Steel coupon resets on 9 Dec, which I believe will also be the date of the next Update.  So if revised ship lists are in the Update Notes, you will have like two days to do the Coal thing with coupon.

Myself, I don't foresee the ship lists changing.

My only interest in a black ship would be if I do NOT already have the regular version of the ship. Just the way I am.  Yes, the black paint schemes are cool.  But there is a part of me that says NO to buying a ship a second time just because it has a different paint job.

IF I could just buy the black paintjob at a substantial discount as an optional alternative camo for whichever ship I already have, that I would at least consider.

Stepping down off the soap box not, your turn, I guess.
