Hey

So played a battle today in Republique and decided to turn away and used speed boost, only that the Repub. would not go above 3/4 speed for the longest time, even with speed boost activated.  Why have speed boost if it's not going to add to your speed.  Seems like this is another nerf to BB's in the mechanics of the game.   And it's not like I don't have a great deal of time in Republique to know how it works.  So much in this game seems like changes every time you play a ship from one patch to the next.  Makes it to where you don't even want to play this game anymore because it's so inconsistent in how game mechanics work.  Wargaming has ruined this game with all of its so-called "balancing".  The game is more unbalanced than ever before.

as Bear has pointed out you're not going to be able to reach max speed if your ship is hard turning even with engine boost is activated. Neither is a ford mustang going to reach its top speed if its vearing off the road into a crowd.

You may wanna get it checked out in a training room, sail in a straight line, engine power set to full & engine boost activated.

Did I not say that I have many games in Republique to understand speed boost and how to use it?  The turn was before speed boost was applied but even when straight it was slow to gain speed and seemed like it was stuck at 3/4 speed for quite a long time before it began to accelerate.   So effectively, it seems you had to wait for 20 seconds or so until the ships reaches max speed and then hit speed boost before it will work properly, just another game mechanic that seems different than what it has been in times past.   Nothing in this game stays consistent, everything gets manipulated.  How many game mechanics gets changed during updates and most are unaware of the problems.  Torps running astray, Recent gun issues, fire chances, faulty citadel hits on ships funnels, shooting through islands, etc.
