What Would You name Your Ship?

It is stated in the Wiki that players would be able to name their ships from a premade list.  What would be some names and the ships attached to their names that you would use or like to see?

Im sure the names will all be based off of historical names for that type of ship.

My own ship naming schemes in games are very complicated.

Giving you a +1 for reading the Wiki.  Thanks for a good first post!

Later posts about ship naming from the Devs say the feature isn't anywhere near started yet, so it's still questionable how it will work.  That said, Elysion is probably correct in that the names would be historical.  I can't say I have a rhyme or reason as to why I'd choose one over another, with the exception of the USS Colorado, upon which my Great Uncle served in World War II.

Can I have a German ship named "Hitler's Stache"?  I'd even pay gold for it!

Depends entirely on the class of ship but in general,

BB: Washington

CA: Olypmia

CL: Seattle

DD: USS Spence (I would prefere to name it Plage after the commander of the DE Tabberer but I dont think that will be an option)

CV: Either Indomitable or Yorktown

So if there was a ship called Dixon Balze you would put an HMAS in front of it and call it fine.

What I have to wonder is can we choose to name our South Dakota class battleship the Pennsylvania? Or would we be strictly limited to the four names used by the South Dakota class. Or I guess a more open variety would be a US ship could be named any name that was used by USN ships.

Random thought. Premium ships would have expanded/different name lists. Not sure if that makes any sense but would allow people that bought premium vessels to feel more unique I guess.

Honestly, if I could, I would probably name my Yamato either Echigo or Izanami. I think Izanami fits a ship like that but other than that I would probably just get creative. In NF I was known for naming my capital ships after natural disasters.

How about a Hood class battlecruiser named...

USS Tombstone

Cause if you went looking to sink the ship, all you would ever find would be your tombstone.   :teethhappy:

Because well you don't want to cross another ship and have them fire. (Wait you can't do that in this game? lame)

Keep in mind that you'll most likely have to pick from a list of names if I remember correctly, and windhover made me remember that I'd have different names for each class so here it is:

BB: Texas

CA: San Jacinto

CL: George S. Patton

DD: Erwin Rommel (hopefully)

CV: Houston

I hope I can pick all of those names, if not I'll have a ton of Texas's

I would give my ship a guy's name! Every damn time you see a ship its always a girl! Or people say "her" when they talk about it. Its about time for a male ship to rise! Besides, how do you know its a girl ship! Did you check? DID YOU???

USS Sherman

Cause Shermans an awesome name and an awesome line of tanks
