Also in the premium shop.

No individual commanders or camos available for purchase. Just in large bundles. (Which is too bad, I would buy the Enterprise and Hood camos, and a couple of the commanders...) Big bundle of ships too.

There is a 35% off coupon for the event that can be used on any of the full price things in the AL section of the armor (so the individual ships, the new camos or the single premium container).

Massive disappointment! Not with the collab, but the options for purchase.

Literally went through all the options and the smaller things I may have spent on - were in larger bundles (with other things I either don't want or already have).  Hope others fair better. :Smile_honoring:

As another AL player, this collab is horribly done by WG, and it's been bungled multiple times now.  What you pointed out with the awful choices to just grab commanders is a longtime complaint.

But there's more.

The art department has often done great work, even on other collabs like Transformers.  They went out of their way to actually change the model of the ship, add animations, etc.  The Azur Lane camos are awful, lazy jobs with bad design.

Lastly, this lazy job with AL Littorio literally being Roma with the Roma nameplate still on the ship needs to be brought up again.

There are guys out there that own Premium Roma, bought AL Littorio, and it's the SAME DAMN SHIP.

Even WoWS Blitz did a better AL Collab.

In the actual Azur Lane game, the Iron Blood ships often have their rigging with a mechanical shark look to them.  Azur Lane Blitz tried to replicate that.

Yea the irony with how this event is set up is that AL itself is actually fairly generous for a gacha game... so to see so much restriction here is disappointing. Im considering the ships bundle just because I want the majority of them (not Avrora or Yukikaze really but the rest) so its a semi-good deal for me given its 2 tier 9s, 3 tier 8s and a tier 3 plus 6 10 point commanders... but Id just outright buy Enterprise and New Jersey as commanders, and Id absolutely buy Enterprise's perma camo (despite not owning Enterprise) and Id buy Hood's perma camo. Im considering the New Jersey Camo for Iowa too.

@Ahskance @Boggzy why is this event set up so absolutely backwards? You would catch far more players of AL (a rather generous gacha game by gacha game standards) by actually letting people buy the old stuff alacarte. Even having something built into the premium containers that would ensure no duplicate commanders until after all commanders had been obtained would be a start (though not ideal compared to just letting us throw money at you for individual commanders). I can imagine the terms of the collab were this restrictive... because that would just seem to be shooting yourselves and Manjuu in the foot.

I wish there was a little more granularity,  as in a little less 'all or nothing' to the options.  My bank account is screaming at me to behave this year. I guess I'l just get one ship this year.

/shrug

Oh well.

Always a shame that you can’t buy this stuff individually. I knew I was gonna pick up AL Montepelier, but I was hoping to grab a Wave 4 commander too (NJ). But with the containers having more than just wave for, I’m competing against 25 other AL commanders, some of which I already have (and have multiple copies of).

I really like that Scharnhorst (not as much a fan of the other two, but they are neat). Dont much care that the ships are just copy pastes though.... Im really not fussed about it. I more care about the commanders and camos being in giant bundles.

A real a bummer you have to buy such expensive bundles. I will be passing on this as I don't feel like dropping money a set of commanders.  I have most of the first three waves.  The sure bet to get the new 4th wave commanders is the 99.99 bundle which I pass on.

Boxes are a really bad idea.  The boxes allow duplicate commanders.  They also have a equal drop rate for the old commanders.  You would think they would have a better chance for newer commanders, but that would only reduce sales.

Trust me, if you really want new commanders, buy the 99.99 pack, because I guarantee if you spend the same amount of money on say 12 boxes, you won't be getting all of the 4th wave commanders.  More likely none actually.  Probably get all duplicates.  5 of the same ones.

They should of had Hornet as a new commander with the release of CV Hornet in my opinion.

...oh I forgot!  Maybe they will give us a free premium container for prime gaming rewards?

The main WoWS side of the camos are just LOL

Affiche_078_Cleveland_2.jpgAffiche_078_Nelson_1.jpgAffiche_078_Hood_1.jpg

Meanwhile on the WoWS x Transformers collab:

Transparent parts to you can look into some of the turrets.  The ships have the actual Transformer characters that are also animated doing various actions.  I remember spectating someone's GK Transformers skin that had Megatron.  Megatron was sitting on one of the turrets and every now and then he gets angry and starts kicking the turret.

I took some pictures for my Starscream MVR Perma-Camo almost 2 weeks ago.  F-15 aircraft and jet engine sound effects.  Stats are still the same for normal version.  Translucent turrets to see the interior.

5k5vGA4.jpegL5CsV9d.jpeg

Starscream is on the flight deck's bow.  He is animated.

16eYYJ9.jpegGLeQINs.jpeg

He'll also transform, complete with the sound effects from the show, fly a loop, transform back and land.

OYPpkdq.jpeg

You can see below Starscream flying above the ship.

Transforms and lands back.

For those looking to buy something, there looks to be an armory coupon for 35% off a dub purchase of whatever is there (AL Collab items only).

Edit: False. It applies only to the things that aren’t already discounted.

It's funny.  I'm doing my AL dailies right now, and I just pulled Indomitable, Revenge and Jervis while reading the forums.  (Still no Vanguard yet, though.)  AL is very generous in my own experiences with gacha.

I mean even more than that... I think Ive spent like $50 on the game total for gems... and I still have most of the dorm rest slots unlocked, 400 dock slots and I usually just slowly build up cubes/coins/oil when there isnt an event running. Its just super generous with all of its resources.

Ive pulled Jervis, Revenge and 2x Vanguard in the current event (something like 90 pulls I think), just looking for Indomitable.

Yes, and no. The new camos (New Jersey (Iowa), Formidable (Indomitable), and Shokaku) are available individually. Both those and the individual collaboration ships (I suppose they are technically bundles with the appropriate commander) are the extent of the a la carte options.

I agree with your sentiments: WG would likely bring in a lot more sales for this collaboration (as well as many others) if they gave players more choice to pick and choose content to purchase on top of the “discounted” bundles on offer.

Yup, so the coupon can only be applied to one of the individual ship “bundles,” one of three new camos indicated above, or an individual container. Not very useful overall, but not surprising.

A note for those only interested in acquiring the new content (minus the new clone ships): you can save yourself 1200 doubloons by using the 35% off coupon on the New Jersey (Iowa) camo, and then purchasing the Fourth Wave bundle (3900 doubloons for the camo, then 5100 doubloons compensation from the bundle).

Indeed.  Tbh, I didn't spend anything until the Shimakaze drop and then I went full in.  And I was playing since around year 2.  AL kept gifting me a ton of gems for one reason or another.

Remember: this is a collaboration and the IP owner could easily be calling the shots here.

Yes, the highly bundled nature of it sucks. I agree completely. But unless you KNOW for ABSOLUTELY sure that the bundle choices are all WG's doing - unless you have SEEN the contract agreement - don't jump too far to conclusions lest there be an unseen chasm in front of you.

It applies to bundles of ships + corresponding 10pt commander (add 1500dub equivalent to the starting price), which might be worth getting if the specific ships tickle your fancy.

I highly doubt it,  the very first iteration of the collab was not nearly this stingy or predatory, you could actually buy  the commanders and everything individually rather than gamble your way to the one you want or buy a massive bundle that costs hundreds of dollars.

In addition, if you play Azur Lane like quite a few of us do(myself included), you'd know its one of the most generous gacha games out there and one of the most successful in terms of revenue. Their business model revolves around creating a good game with lot's of great waifus and generous rates so that the end of the day you want to spend money on the game(mainly on skins for your waifus). I agree that things can change and you are absolutely correct that non of us know for sure what the contract says but I find it HIGHLY unlikely that this is all due to restrictions Manju/Yostar have placed on WG.

I am thinking about getting the AL Sov Rossiya simply because I don't have that premium. Is it worth?

Yeah, I've always known E key has had an issue(sometimes needs a bit more force) but its a pretty nice keyboard so I don't want to risk damaging it RN and try get the thing working properly.
