A swap of port slots for captain reserve slots

Every month you can get 2 port slots for doing monthly missions. I currently have over 60 port slots that I'll never use all of them. However I'm always checking my captain reserve opening and dumping low skill captains. It might be nice if I could exchange some port slots for reserve slots. Atm we have to spend doubloons to expand our reserve. Any thoughts on this from the community?

With WG kicking out a new "line" every quarter, I'd rather have the port slots. Unless you're spec'ing multiple captains per ship, you can always park a captain on a ship you don't use. Just don't retrain him and you can always move him to your preferred ship when you want him. 

When snowflake events come by you're going to want as many T5+ ships in your port as possible to maximize the coal/container/steel earnings, while minimizing credit expenditure,  so just keep the ships in your port rather then selling and rebuying them later. That means you need a ton of port slots.

Just keep kicking low point captains out.  Seems like I'm always getting "free" 3 pt Captains from these events that just clog things up.

I keep everything from tier 5 up. I've got almost 400 ships in port if you subtract event, rentals and subs

Port slots really add up over time. So that if you are a long time player, you might not really need them anymore. 
We get two per month from missions, and it would be great for veterans if they could allow players to chose the reward: port slots or captain slots.

But I can't see WG offering a free trade, ever. I don't know, it just would seem incoherent from what I have seen yet.

That being said, I find captain slots easier to acquire as a newer player (2 years, +200 ships and 1 free slot at the moment); you just need to keep your reserve full all the time, while maintaining a captain on every rental ships you get. So that when a rental expires, it is sent to reserve and you get one more slot. 

I still have several of those recruits from the previous submarine test in my reserve as an example, to ensure it stays full....

The current rate of getting free port slots seems to just about be in balance of the rate of release of new lines.  I wouldn't personally want the rate of new port slots, reduced.

Well that sort of explains it.  If you kept all ships, T1 to T10 for every line, you would find yourself short on slots fast.

In fact I think you wouldn't currently have enough slots to buy your missing tech tree ships.

@Paladin1954 I'm about to increase my Reserve Slot Number by 3 in 5 days and further 6 in 8 days (9 total) for FREE...

• Make sure your Reserve is totally full with zero free slots.

• You may have the same 9 boats in your limited-time rental fleet.

• Recruit zero-point captains for each of the boats.
• When rental time expires, the boats evaporate but the captains are sent to the Reserve.
• If the Reserve has zero slots, new slots are added to accommodate the captains.

You, too, may begin the quest of scoring the highest number of Reserve Slots in all the realms of Warships!
