Greetings, and welcome to the Fakeblog, where I post strange and imaginary designs of various ships featured in World of Warships. All of this is done in a similar format to the devblog, where a ship is posted with a brief explanation that attempts to justify the design and ends with some made up stats of what it could be in game. All the models are sourced from the game client and have been edited and rendered in Blender.

Warning: The content below might be extremely cursed. Please proceed with caution.

FAKEBLOG #1, NEW SHIPS
German cruiser Cöln and American cruiser Milwaukee are added to the game for testing

German cruiser Cöln, Tier VI

Spoiler

Coln.thumb.png.3044c3515e0c194cc7f01bfb5fab9129.png

A Deutschland-class cruiser armed with 380 mm guns. In the midst of World War II, German battleship Gneisenau was planned to be rebuilt with six 380 mm guns in place of her nine 283 mm main battery. The conversion process never went through and was cancelled in 1943. At tier VI, Cöln is a representation of Gneisenau's cancelled conversion but with the Deutschland-class cruisers.

In comparison to Graf Spee which is armed with six 283 mm guns, Cöln is armed with four 380 mm guns. The cruiser has powerful artillery for her tier with high accuracy for the caliber but has a low shell count. She also is equipped with two quadruple torpedo tubes which have generous firing angles, high torpedo speed, but has a lower range than Graf Spee.

Cöln's speed is on par with Graf Spee; faster than average battleships at the tier but slower than the average cruiser. She is equipped with the Repair Party consumable as well as the option to mount the Defensive AA Fire or Fighter Plane consumables in a single slot. Unlike Graf Spee, Cöln lacks the ability to mount the Hydroacoustic Search Consumable.

American cruiser Milwaukee, Tier X

Spoiler

Milwaukee.thumb.png.c45da586aa2c1d1bc2b018572a8b0d64.png

An American light cruiser armed with twenty 152 mm guns housed in quadruple turrets that were based roughly off one of the preliminary design studies for the Brooklyn-class of cruisers. The rate of fire on the 152 mm guns are not outstanding for the tier, but makes up for it with the absurd volume of shells. Milwaukee has a good set of consumables standard for American light cruisers which includes the ability to mount Hydroacoustic Search and Defensive AA Fire in separate slots. Her Radar consumable however, is significantly weaker than her tech tree counterpart, Worcester.

Milwaukee ship parameters list main battery as 127mm.

You get jumped by this thing in a DD, you get jumped.

As much as I think Helena is absolutely disgusting and overpowered for Tier 7, Milwaukee isn't quite up to spec for Tier 10 material, seems more like Tier 9 if you nerf the reload to 8-8.5.  The hull and HP are just not sufficient for Tier 10.  Still, interesting idea given some of the Brooklyn preliminaries.

A couple others to consider.

Cool idea for a thread, hope to see more of these. The Brooklyn class were not good looking ships but I had forgotten how much uglier some of the alternatives were. Damn.
