Hi All,

My question is about the release of USS Forest Sherman and the names of researchable ships, but is a bit hard for me to make into a short question.

So, I thought that the researchable ships had the name of the class of ship and then the premium ships had a specific ship build, but how does that work with the lead ship being the example that is released as a premium? If they ever made the class researchable, would they release a subclass as the generic build of the ship(like the Bellerophon compared to the Dreadnaught)?

Sorry for the word salad and thanks in advance for replies.

This is not the first time a Premium Ship is the lead ship of the class.

Premium CA Tone is the lead of her class.

Premium BB Ise is the lead of hers.  Hell, her sister Hyuga is a Premium also.

Premium Tirpitz was released around 2 weeks after the game launched in 2015.  There were no German BB Lines, they didn't arrive until almost the end of 2016.

Premium BB Scharnhorst is the lead of her class while sister Gneisenau is the Tech Tree Ship.  Shiny Horse is old school.

Etc.

There's likely more, that's just what came off the top of my head.

Most likely, WG simply has decided not to include that class of ship in the tech tree, and so there won't be any conflict.  In this particular case, there won't be a Forrest Sherman class that is obtainable in the tech tree, and so having the lead ship in the class as a Premium/Special poses no problems.
