Took me a while to get the turret swap to work but I think I am going to have a good laugh playing C-Hull Harekaze with the cosmetic change.

Big difference is you still have 8 torps that you don't have to aim the ship to use.

Probably better concealment and speed too.

To the point though, do you think those 3 guns provide acceptable firepower.

No way.

F. Sherman has three highly important differences on its guns.

1.  1 sec reload

2.  SAP

3.  much better ballistics.  Air drag is .21 like Austin.  Most other 5"/54 get .3 something.  With .21 it's close to RU 5" flight times.

2.  SAP

If SAP wasn’t so situational as to be borderline useless that might mean something.

If someone isn’t ‘Ace Ventura: Perfect Positioner,’ SAP is garbage.

How did you make the change?

On the original Harekaze you can choose which guns you have, the 127mm American, the 100m Japanese Guns or the 127mm Japanese guns (by the hull you pick).

(You'll see 99% of the people put the 100mm Japanese guns on it)

I had to do a lot of file swaps via PnF modding. In this case, I swapped out the 100 mm gun model for Sherman's 5'' gun model. Doesn't affect the performance, its basically has the same function as a "skin" for cosmetic purposes.

Lol nice meme. SAP is incredibly strong. Yeah if you shoot the bow of bow on ships expect to do nothing

So basically, aim SAP at superstructure, profit? Also because SAP DOESN'T saturate the superstructure IIRC, so you get full pen damage per hit.

Perfect excuse to plug in the HSF Harekaze "Isoroku" Cat Camo.  That is all.  Carry on and have a good day.

Years ago we had this forum poster that hated anything and everything related to anime.  But when HSF Harekeze came out and the Cat Camo an optional, additional buy, the guy broke down and bought the ship and the extra camo.  He even stated he did so because he loved cats more than he hated anime :Smile_popcorn: I can't remember who he was or if he even posts still.  It's just an odd thing to remember.

it does saturate. everything that does damage iirc does saturate. also pretty much yes, USN 5"/54's with SAP really really hurts when you aim for it. Austin for example can easily dump out 50k on a bb's superstructure. lighter armored cruisers such as french cruisers tend to get demolished aswell

Is there a tutorial on how to do that? I'd like to put 5" 38 turrets from the Fletcher on a Clemson 1 on the bow and 1 on the stern, with single open 5" 38's on the port and starboard side behind the bridge.

But I suppose they'll have the 4" rate of fire and damage.  Just cosmetics correct?

Also is there a way to chance the cosmetics of the Hull like get rid of the old stock anchor and put a modern stockless in a hawser like the USS Truxton DD-229 had. Also would like to modify the bridge and lower the stacks and main mast.

Here's the link:   http://www.navsource.org/archives/05/229.htm

PS... Some how the Quote from above didn't show up!
