I tired of going this store. We got to go shopping there during the week, then have to go on the weekend. Nothing much changes there. Some locations are bigger than others, or have more clothes, ethic foods. But we got shopping, because maybe there will be something different.

Maybe I have been to Walmart 15 times in my life so far, but I am only 59, so that number might double by the time I die.

Walmart is okay.  Mostly I'm shopping groceries.  Prices are good and quality is generally decent, though for a store that size the selection isn't that great.  But I always have 3-4 other stores that I frequent to keep up the variety.

Once Amazon became a thing, I stopped shopping at Walmart. I can't recall why.

I too hate to go to Walmart to shop.

Since I work there, I shop before I come home.

I heard once that security at Walmart was more about keeping the employees from stealing the merchandise than it was keeping the customers from stealing it. Is this true?

75% of their duties are shoplifting or self checkout fraud.

The new system, from last 6 months, makes it a lot harder to identify internal theft of merchandise.

Stealing money from the cash register is too easy to track.

I work in the electronics department and have at least 3 cameras on me at all times.

If the merchandise makes it to the sales floor, it's easy to track a thief.

Usually they wait until your internal theft hits a felony before they invite the cops to walk you out.

Most stores stopped being 24 hours because of either theft or employees being harassed too much.

My sisters career is working at the same big supermarket. The cashiers use the same till, all day long. So there is a camera watching every cashier. My sister, is a supervisor, but does not want to be the manager, because the sales and money has to add up at the end of the day.

I've only got 4 that close.

One is a Walmart Market though.

Target Canada only lasted for two years. Walmart took over most of those locations. I forgot 2 more places, so that is 12 within 35 minute drive.

The grocery store here closed down twenty years ago. I have to drive 20 minutes to pick up a carton of milk. In fact, I just got back. Prices have gone through the roof. We all know why but to discuss it would be "political."

I used to work at Lowe's hardware.

Based upon training videos I watched, store policy is more about tracking the merchandise and having video to document the incident for insurance and law-enforcement purposes.
A theif could load-up a cart and walk out the door and we weren't supposed to interfere, just witness instead.
Which probably reduces risk of employees getting injured on the job, I suppose.

Companies put safety & prevention policies in place in order to improve their botton-line of costs, in my opinion.

Back in 2009, I was on a trip in Beijing and saw a crowd at Walmart.  Just shows you that capitalism is working even in a socialist economy.

How do you think I feel, my dad goes all teh way to Calgary once a month to go to Walmart, I've looked all through that store, Nothing there for me, and not really anything there for my dad either, theres actually more things we need or want in High River, unless we want the worlds BEST steaks and go to Longview
