I am a little confused on the victory criteria of "retreating in direction indicated by reconnaisance"?  What direction is that? Is that the location of the anchor symbol?  The whole team seemed to have been confused since we got NO stars despite all secondary tasks being completed.

During the battle, the instructions are stuck in the upper left of your screen, along with all the unfulfilled objectives.

Yeah...  You guys missed that one.  At least 50% of the ships must exit at the anchor.  If the other can't make it, they should suicide ram an enemy to knock down the numbers needed.

Half your remaining ships have to make it to the target area. One of the tactics used in the Operation is to "suicide" your ship by ramming an enemy if you can't make it in time.

Yup, at least half of your team must exit that way... this Op is very frustrating with clueless people, they can force a fail by just existing anywhere else

I haven't been playing it much, so I can't remember the exact details of the bug.

But from the last time Killer Whale was in rotation(and prob a few rotations prior to this one),  there was a minimap?? bug.

The required reinforcement groups were NO LONGER marked with a red reticle on the minimap.  So if there are new players and inexperienced players, they will not know the specific 4 ships you have to sink to get those stars.  The battle might end, with these players focusing down or chasing the wrong ships around the map.

 

IF it has been fixed,  just disregard this entire message.

In this operation you should try to exit or allow yourself to be killed to get half of your team to exit. If you go in any direction but towards the exit area, be ready to let the enemy kill you (don't repair when flooding or on fire.) I know this sounds wrong, but this is want is needed to get the correct number for the exit win.
