I’m confused, the WGC client says tomorrow my time. So would I be able to update and play now or would I have to wait until tomorrow?

For some reason every PTS thread (actually its all website pages w/indents...see examples below) doesn't allow you to see the rewards properly on phones.

You can see the rewards symbols & a portion of the text but you can't scroll over to the rest of tge text to read it (you can zoom into the symbols furtger but can't zoom out to see the text).

It varies (for different PTSes) to where sometimes you can see the 1st few words in each line...& other times (like this one) where you can only see the 1st few letters in each line.

This has been ongoing (& not just on PTS articles...but many other threads where certain sections in the other threads do the same thing***)...forever...& on many different phones.

***always in sections where "what rewards can be obtained" in the other articles...or when missions are listed...

IOW not the whole article...but always the highlighted areas (the areas that have an indent in the text•••) where the most important features are listed.

•••Example (of "indent"):

This is what you can get:

     A- for doing so & so...

     B- for doing so & so...

When stuff is indented like that you will see "A- for doing" & "B- for doing" & the rest of the text will be off the page & unscrollable/unable to be zoomed out to see it.

Again...just a phone scenario.

Was guessing that Dido or Canarias would be free, did not expect both. But I’m willing to bet you can only earn enough Med. tokens (sidenote- didn’t you use those for the Italian Cruiser EA 2yrs ago?) to get one, so choose wisely on if you want a British premium light cruiser for operations that can run Dunkirk or Cunningham or an Anglo-Spanish heavy cruiser that you’ll have to grind a new captain from scratch

Please for the love of god create a poll for eliminating Epicenter map. At the very least get rid of it in high tier battles.

Thoughts on Super CVs:
Experience: Good experience overall, I equally enjoy United States and Eagle. The firepower against ships is amazing and the AA ignorance is good as well. I have noticed that I get more damage playing Eagle than I do United States and I have averaged about 175K with Eagle and 125k with US.
General buffs/nerfs:

  1. Reduce detectability range (I have had multiple battles where destroyers have purposefully rushed my teams line just to spot our CV and to get their BBs to sink it)
  2. Reduce reload time for bombers (Self explanatory - you usually only get to launch bombers 1 or 2 times)
  3. Reduce the machine gun time or make the aircraft begin their attack out further for the F8Fs on United States (It just feels and looks like that the planes get too close to the victim)
  4. Reduce the maneuverability of the tactical squadrons while in the attack stage (Too hard to aim most of the time)

In conclusion, I really like the general gimmicks and gameplay that these carriers provide. With a couple more tweaks they should be ready for the live server.

Is the US supposed to be so thinly armoured? The deck is the thickest armour, at 25mm (which doesn't seem right, since it's a steel deck, no?) Everything else is 19mm...

Dirigible mode seemed decent. The escort courses were interesting and had some good variety. The mode seems to favor brawling ships. Radars are also quite strong at the tier in this mode.

The control area around the airships could perhaps be made somewhat larger and/or provide a larger bonus to the team maintaining control. e.g. faster airship speed, etc.

In terms of more drastic changes, it might be nice if getting kills had some effect on the speed of the airship--e.g. allowing it to move at a greater maximum speed as defenders are depleted, offsetting steamrolls somewhat.

A negative of the mode is that it feels like just another standard battle for those who spawn far from the starting point. Having something to do, such as capturing a point at the destination, would make it feel like a more cohesive experience.

I'm assuming that the Super Carriers are of the Low Floor - Extreme Ceiling variety. I'm a novice CV player, and as much as I hear about (and experience on the receiving end) how unstoppable plane sorties are, I just don't have any luck making it happen. I lose all my planes a lot. I also had no idea that interceptors would chase my attack planes well outside their patrol zone, but they did. 

Additionally, I was having weird issues with the planes just randomly turning 90, 180, even 360 degrees spontaneously without any input from me. no idea what that was about. i posted the replay file in the bugs forum. 

I'm good with the carriers having very thin armor. they need a vulnerability, and an honest punishable mistake to make (i.e.. poor positioning gets you lit up. if only they could catch fire as per their historical real-world weakness).

Now, do I think their needs to be tier 11 supercarriers in the first place? about as much as their needs to be nuclear powered subs that never have to surface. 

Overall, I'm negative on it.  The existence of Tier 11 carriers is really just going to push me down into tier5-8 again. Tier X is boring enough with everyone hanging back and peppering each other at extreme range.

Super CVs.

Not a fan... I knew the concept was going to be expended but this is IMO getting out of control.. For PTS environment, Super CVs are good and dandy in a chill relaxed setting...

Main server ??? Its going to be Haikyuu situation all over again with 500k DMG being the norm...


Dirigible Derby

 

What is this??? I only played one match of the new game mode and was instantly put off and turned off by the concept.. All we're doing is following a blimp in where,

  • we dont have any interaction with...
  • Nothing in the Mini map to say where it is... Only its path...
  • The 12 vs 12 format.. Crowds the map... 
    • As a result.. You have people playing it as if its a Random Battle, with two "suppository" objects as a distraction in the sky, right dab on the middle of the map. Nothing else happens..
  • Nothing in this game mod says fun or inviting...

Sorry guys not a fan...


Other then that... No problems with all of the other elements of the patch...

The new AI has friendly and enemy bots getting stuck on islands again and not because of incoming fire or being spotted. Had an allied bot DD in co-op run straight into an island at the beginning of the match well before the reds were in range even to see me (I was closer to where they eventually showed up). The DD sailed straight into the rock almost as if he didn't see it there which is pretty weird and something I haven't seen before. Normally I see them do this to avoid detection from incoming aircraft or to avoid shells and torps. This was straight from spawn right into the rock. My only guess on why the AI would do this would be to try and maneuver out of being eventually spotted by the incoming red bots.

  1. Dirigible Derby

First, I must say that i really like to see new game modes...   but I would prefer logical ones, like "escort/attack convoy"...

Instead, we have some magical indestructible blimps on a "V" shaped  path with both team converging to same spot... So this is "Convoys, worse"?

  • The central reason for this map matches with WWI, dreadnought era, Tiers 1-4. Not for high tiers. The convoys made more sense, improves immersion. Blimps that need a ship below it to progress is un-immersive, something wrong is not right...
  • It favors too much for long-range torpedo DDs
  • Reward for "guiding" the blimp is too small. Highlight the bonus for staying inside the circle!
    • Make the blimp go back if more enemy ships are inside the circle, a single enemy if no allied is inside the blimp's circle
  • Relate altitude of blimp to the number of players alive, so it falls into sea when the last player is killed... 
  • Reduce the number of players, 12x12 is too crowded, too close, too messy
  • Bad gameplay, a forced bottleneck in the end that is nonsense! WHY does both blimps converge to same spot in "Y" shaped route, with a battle happening below? 
    • Just found the "S" shaped routes, converging to center. It plays much better than the Y shaped.
    • One option is to change the route to parallel, i.e., from ">-" to "=="
    • And make the blimps go in opposite direction, one team does W->E, the other does E->W (or N>S, S>N) 
    • Maybe making their paths cross, like "><", would lead to faster battles for centerimage.thumb.png.1a6b35a9c5de0cba5553d74481c67cb8.png
      • the two equal blimps and this convergence are BAD, illogical, and breaks immersion. I was dragged out of WW2 across time to a WW1 RACE, like those gentlemen officers declaring a truce for a soccer game ... At least paint them differently... make another "fat and short" model...

2. Asymmetric Battles

This one i really like. No sea battle was an even, fair match. So different team size and ships "generation" is a realistic feature!

But why not try this asymmetry with NATIONS, like WW2 was AXIS vs ALLIES ships?? In many scenarios that does not require to capture imaginary circles, the radar advantage for allies isn't that relevant, just like in PvE Coop, radar is not as valuable as in PvP "cap circles in smoke" mode... Also, RU can be considered "Axis", as in earlier stages of war it was allied with the germans, shared Poland and other countries, collaborated...  And a few nations can become "mercenary", and complete the smaller team, as FR, RU, Asia, Netherlands...

Please move back to the previous gorgeous detailed miniature, this is ugly and HIDES THE SHIP ...

My biggest complaint so far is; WHY do you post the survey so early in the Test?!?

Outside that complaint based on my work schedule, (I've barely had time to even participate yet,) the test still has Sat, Sun, Mon, to go!

Doesn't it seem more reasonable to wait at least until Sunday?

Basically my answers all amounted to; 'No Opinion,' because I haven't had time to form one!

Is this world of Warship or what? Dirigible's are not warships. They have no place in this game. I will not play PTS to give WG any numbers to work with. They are still not doing anything that they said they were going to do after the big walk out. NO MONEY FOR YOU WG.

A whole lot of bug reports in this feedback section (not including mine in post 4 because it isn't a PTS bug but a website bug that just happens to occur in PTS threads also) ...lol.

Maybe it's time to make the "here" link a bit bigger than the rest of the text so people get the idea.

(Mainly just pointing out there be bugs here...& not at the here you are expecting them to be at).

Is Repulse banned from operations?  The Battle! button is grayed out for that 1 ship for the tier 6 operations.
