Started a match the other day in my Tiger.  I guess someone had one of those monitoring programs that shows everyone's stats.  Someone came up in chat, aghast that I had 800 games in "that" ship.  Started all sorts of stuff in chat...most kinda funny.  Tiger...you either love it or hate it.  Not many folks in the middle.

How about "Lil Touch"

[FYI, Soshi is the first and third phonetic of the Korean name for the K-pop group "Girl's Generation".  Sone (pronounced sowon) is phonetic for the Korean word for "wish", but when used with Soshi, it represents a somewhat rabid fan of the group. Ergo,  Soshi_Sone].

Won't you give it up... Give up to me... Baby give it up

Truly a cross cultural sentiment if I ever heard one in a set of lyrics. :Smile_glasses:

There is a lot of "cross culture" stuff involved with this group (and others).  The top guy who put together the company that develops these groups got his PhD in the U.S., with a thesis he further developed and applied, involving some very extensive cultural concepts that underlay the songs and dance.  From the chord transitions, lyrics, hand movements, colors.  They are all tailored to culture.

One song they sing is in the Japanese language with some English words where there is a rhyme between a Japanese word phonetic and an English word phonetic.  The rhyme connects the two versus.  The versus talk about hearts being connected where the rhyme connects the word "heart" in Japanese with the term "you" in English.  Heart...you (connected phonetically across languages with a rhyme).  It sounds good on its own merit. But when you hear it AND understand it..it's like...WOW, did they (meaning the lyrics writer/composer) just do what I think they did?   Doesn't happen by accident.

I'm in danger of getting a hijacking a thread warning... but what the hell. I always knew that I'd be learning a lot of naval history stuff on the forum here but I never imagined I'd be learning to appreciate a KPOP group.

For a couple of generations now whenever someone would ask me what kind of music I liked I'd reply "I'm just an old Dead Head." Different music from a different time, to be sure, but I can admire a good performance when I see one. It takes a talented team to do what they do...both on stage and behind the scenes. On stage the performers have to look good... and they sure are good at that... but they also have to be able to dance and make the moves the choreographer comes up with and they have to have good singing voices so they are more than just pretty faces. That they have a big behind the scene team doesn't diminish their talent. Writers that play tricks with different languages is something I'll never pick up on because I only speak the one. I can pick up on the choreography though. I'm really impressed by the video editing... several costume changes without missing a beat of the dance routine they're doing... now that's editing.

After some exploring on You tube I now have some GG favorites. There's the one you posted here but I also like "Paparazzi", "Lion Heart', and "Party". Now if they would only do a cover version of "Truckin" I might become as rabid a fan as you are. :Smile_glasses:
