Preparing For The Snowflakes

Goodbye my happy little x16 collection!    I hate to see you go!   (Harugumo was @ x11 since I milked it for some points to get the DRUID some time ago)

 

On the other hand, the 133,200 RP's help me to introduce Mr Colbert & Mr Slava to my port.

I just need Brindisi and Venezia back and I'll be full aside from the Dutch cruisers awaiting release. I reset the Italian cruisers to get what I needed to pick up Druid which was the only RB boat I didnt have.

It's going to be about 300 and some flakes for me to knock off this patch for tier 5 and up. I'm sort of excited but also wishing they had offered better rewards like WoT for long term players.

Is there a list of snowflake rewards somewhere?  I think I read something a while ago but nothing recent.

How did you get so many bonuses? I usually do the double points RB grind but this looks different??

If you fxp the ship to unlock it but don't buy it, you can keep resetting the line to stack RB bonuses. If you have the fxp to do it, it can definitely save you credits in the long run since you'll only have to buy the ship once.

The final rewards won't be announced until the patch notes on Monday. On the PTS, the rewards were 1 anniversary token for t5-7, a token and gift container for t8/9, and the standard SC for t10, but I don't expect those to change much in the live release.

Rukenshia has typically done a tracker for previous snowflake events (https://whaling.in.fkn.space), but if it's going to be updated for the current anniversary flakes it probably won't be until the patch notes confirm the rewards.

Agreed. I'm (only) going to be somewhere in the region of 175-200, depending on my grinding progress through the rest of 10.7 and 10.8 and other ship purchases and SC ships. The guaranteed SCs are always appreciated, as are the gift containers, but I still think last year's rewards were better. Depending on the prices of the non-crate offerings in the armory, the tokens for t5-7 flakes could be nice, but part of me still wanted the consumable camos this year.

At least the Christmas flakes are still good, although I wish WG had kept the lower tier premium flakes from the first year. Even if they didn't want to keep the increased coal/steel rewards for t5+ premium ships, at least giving a bit of coal for the free t2-4 premiums we used to get was nice to have.

Wound up with about 77k RP after all the misc and a x4 reset.

Still haven’t picked a ship.

After all the effort of the reset, I wound up deciding none of the really appealed to me.

The snowflake event will be underwhelming this winter compared to generosity of years past with WG's increasingly tightfisted dominion over gathering dollars and cutting back on goodies all year. There is about 70 ships I can bring into the snowflake situation if not more tech trees by then. But if I do so? That will depend on what happens between now and then. Action. Not platitudes and words.

I currently have 36 T10, 38 T9, 15 T8, 12 T7, 6 T6, and 3 T3.  This includes all premiums, but not subs. I have 150k credits and 800k FXP if I want to reset a line for the RB (haven't used the x2 multiplier yet) to get a few more ships, or I can purchase a bunch more T8s.  I also do not have the T8 / T9 / T10 Dutch ships yet either.

I think that whatever I do will depend on what is in the gift containers and what can you buy with the anniversary tokens. 

Was there any description on the PTS what the anniversary tokens can buy?

Dev bulletin for 10.8. The tokens can be used for the anniversary collection crates (you’ll need a total of 60 to complete the collection between tokens and the ones from daily shipments and missions), distant voyages crates, anniversary consumable camos, and permacamos for t7s. 

The gift containers give a couple of one special signal. They’re the same ones we had for t8/9 ships last anniversary and the final reward for the weekly flag container missions.

Don't the gift containers give 5 special signals?  (special signals being one of the 7 different varieties)

 

Slight off topic question.... Is it just me or do the Wyvern signals (+50% credit) drop way more often than all the other times....  I have like double of the number (currently 120) compared to my next most numerous Dragon signals.  I usually use them as all or nothing... meaning I use all types at roughly the same rate so I have definitely gotten Wyvern way more often.

It looks like I have another 9 days to prepare for the 'snowflakes', as it doesn't start until the 17th.

Also will be taking this line off as I do not do CVs, so a break of some sort at least.
