How WG "solves" problems

For some time now I've been complaining that Coop battles end too quickly. The players just steamroll the bot team and the game is over in less than 5 minutes.  It's no fun for anyone.

With submarines, WG has solved that problem!  With 2 or 3 subs on the bot team that stay hidden at the start, there are only 6 or 7 enemy surface ships, so those die even faster than before.   But then you spend another four minutes hunting down the invisible subs, so the total game length is now > 8 minutes.   It's still no fun for anyone, but it takes a lot longer.

Brilliant guys, just brilliant!

You Co-op main haven't figured it out yet ???

Why you gotta single out co-op mains for that...the same applies to all modes.

Been plenty of games lately with fewer than three subs, some even with zero. The shiney may already be wearing off.

Folks take the coal, mess around with the subs, then put them aside.

I didn't say every game has 3 subs.  And I hope you're right, that they're a passing fancy.

But I notice that the matchmaker sometimes adds CVs to Coop matches, even when no human brings one,   And it only takes one hiding submarine to add several minutes of boredom to a match.  So I think now is the time to gripe about it.

Because you guys were the must vocal, advocating for change when it was not needed..

In the process of advocating for changes, you manage to annoy the Ranmdom players who use co op to chill out and other reasons.

Look, my original posting was sarcasm.  I don't actually believe WG added subs to make Coop battles last longer, just to screw me. It's just amusing to express it that way.  

You, on the other hand, seem to believe that's exactly how it works, and that I should have known that complaining only makes things worse.  I think you have problems the forums can't help you with.

p.s.   Please tell me more about how I can annoy Random players who don't want improvements to Coop games.

The CV thing annoys me more than anything else. Especially when the Greens fold (bots, humans, or both,) and when I’m trying to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, with all the bots bearing down on me, the (redacted) bot CV keeps sending its little 1-3 plane mosquito squads out and spotting me.

It’s why I basically don’t trust anything they say anymore, until I see solid proof to the contrary.

What you need is a DD with the Radio Location skill to track down the enemy sub.

1st off I'm a random main...PVE clans are like wolf clans...you don't have to be a PVE main...

& I think you're mistaking PVE mains for PVP mains that left PVP because of the CV rebork...which is what the majority of today's PVE mains are.

They're the ones that keep advocating for change to random...PVE mains could care less about PVP because they know any change to random isn't going to remove the toxic PVP players...which is why the majority of them are PVE mains.

Ahhhh, finally! Now we have it. Us Coop folks did get some wanted (by us) changes made some time ago. Sorry we upset the tourists. Well no, not really. And once more, we didn't ask for the current AI mucking they did recently.

Agreed. While I suck at PvP, and that is one reason I do not play it, The main reason I stay away from it is that you make one little mistake or get one good shot off and the toxicity comes out. You accidentally go out of position by even a little and get eaten alive by the other players and your team complains and reports you for bad gameplay. If you get a lucky shot the enemy complains about their team sucking, or how you suck for getting the lucky shot and are flamed for it. Or at least that is how some of my past experiences with PvP matches went.

Unfortunately, a DEV cares a lot for you guys to get swift changes when ask for them..

I've been using that to Work on my Sub Sinking Skills, What Ships are Best, what Ships WITHOUT ASW are Still Usable, that kinda thing...     I don't MIND a Coop Round ending Fast sometimes, some days the RNG just says you're not gonna Hit anything BUT you're gonna get Pasted by Every Red Boat on the Map and it's the only thing that Saves your Bacon....       

 

What I DO Hate is when you Put yourself into a Position that OUGHT to get you Blapped Hard and, No Boats, Nothing, No one Shows Up to Take the Bait..    Open Water Middle of the Map, Sitting in a Cap Circle, and the Sharks are on Holiday...   It's like some Twisted WG Joke some days...   THOSE are the Days you Hate the Round Ending Fast because there Shoulda been Boats, but they all went Somewhere Else like you had the Plague and you're Scrambling to get ANY Kinda Damage out of it....      And the Clock runs Out...   Yah, you got your Win, but the Multiplier got Wasted on Bupkiss...       And there's No Do Overs in Ships...

 

I use Coop, and Occasionally Scenarios, as a Break from Pubs in Tanks to get my Head back into the Game so to Speak...     I Pub Occasionally, mostly Div'd, but not alot since I get enough of that Frustration in Spades outta Tanks so I try to Avoid it Here...     I believe the Clinical Term is I come Here to Decompress, granted, the Bots'll STILL get on your Nerves with the Constant Ramming, but Bot's will be Bot's afterall...    lol

I am also a PvE main. Just WHO exactly in PvE ASKED for the borking of the CVs? Sure wasn't me or anyone else in PvE that I know of. I was quite happy with the 2 options of play style available in PvE for CVs. Seems to me I remember a whole lot of PvP players pissing and moaning that PvE CV play wasn't training people enough for PvP play. PvP is the one that wanted to "unify" CVs so that there was NO option for type of play. YOU got what you asked for. It's PvE players that got boned the most.

Co-op was meant to be fast pace... Not 20 min of chasing CVs or subs...

Randoms, bring on the subs... They will be hated just as the other elements of the in-game experience people despise. They will force people to quite just as

  • Planes
  • Fire
  • Torp nerf/flood nerf
  • AP potency...

I mean the list is endless... But someone will like it...
