During a coop battle, I launched 6 torps and sonar-lit up a BB with a green patch and ALL torps were angling to the BB but ALL torps sailed past the BB despite the green patch on the BB hull.  Damage control should turn off the green patch but it did not if it was on.

Coop bots have god level torp dodging.  The homing torps also stop homing at like, 2km I think?  So yea, they probably are hard to hit.

It is still helpful to set-up the attack so that the torpedoes are approaching a ship's broadside.

Positioning one's Submarine for an attack might involve some planning.

Launching torps towards a ship's bow, when they're charging straight towards your ship, risks having one or more torpedoes graze the target's hull without actually hitting it.
It is a problem, I feel.
But it is happening.  So we have to figure out solutions and work-arounds.

It was a broadside attack with tight pattern; there was no chance of miss; it seemed as if the BB had a torp repelling hull that was turned on at the last second!   Funny thing is that I have much more success with head on attacks!

This.

One thing I’ve learned to do is not launch directly at a target’s bow, but to ‘Y’ fire them slightly offset. Let them get close, then ping. The torps tend to angle in and hit the sides.

As to broadside targets; whoever called the current torps Sidewinders was spot on.

I’ve fired and pinged targets, and the torps have seemingly gone off to Disneyland, only to lead a target way off to the side, then turn back and smack them dead on after getting close.
