Best BB, which I only know because it is a recent addition, is Ise.

Tough question for Tier 6. I have a list but not in order

CA

Dallas
Nurnberg
Graf Spee
De Grasse

BB
Ise
New Mexico
Arizona
Dunkerque?

I like De Grasse for the AA, however the Graf Spee for more durability. Tier 6 is not known for its AA.

Dallas and Pensacola have decent AA for self defense. The best escort meanwhile is Huang He I believe. Noteworthy is also the upcoming new Dutch cruiser which has a great mid range AA value, but has no other AA otherwise.

As for BBs, the best one is most likely Ise, after that it's a toss up between Andrea Doria, Bayern, Prinz Eitel Friedrich and New Mexico. None of the latter ones can escort anything however due to a lack of range.

Not that it is going to matter much.

Look at Ise.  I've found its AA to be markedly more effective at defending itself than the AA of other Tier VI BBs.

Kept it in mind, but somehow I managed to forget listing it regardless. :fish_palm:
Amended the original post.

Yeah, Ise AA is actually very good for its tier. Might be the best T6 BB AA overall in fact.

I had really good results in Dallas against same tier planes.

"Best AA" in Tier VI is kind of a pointless thing.  The CV Rebork greatly affected AA and a bunch of mid tier AA ships lost their luster in this regard.  Queen Elizabeth in the RTS CV days had a very strong AA suite.  Post CV Rebork, it's trash.

But to be a good sport and answer anyways:

Best Tier VI Cruiser AA is Pensacola, way better than Dallas.

Best Tier VI Battleship AA is a tossup between Ise and Queen Elizabeth, but both have serious issues with their AA.

Ise has way better long range flak bursts and long range AA DPS, but once past that layer, her AA falls apart.  This makes Ise easier pickings for Dive Bombers that weave through the flak.

Queen Elizabeth's long range AA is quite worse than Ise but her close range AA is better.  QE will cut up Dive Bombers that need to fly over her, but Torpedo Bombers will have an easier time as they don't need to fly right over the target.

Pick your poison.

T6 aa is not going to keep you alive, solo. You have to double stack ships.

You can specc QE for AA, if WG doesn't deserve an Ise's value worth of your money.

You wish it was that simple...

Too general of a question as different ships have different values at close medium & long ranges...& different planes are more vulnerable to either short medium or long ranged AA (edit: kinda ninja'd by Haze on that point)...

But which of any of them I couldn't tell you the differences on be sure I just grind whatever line needs grinding & just ignore AA for the most part because in any single ship grind the amount of times you are actually attacked by planes is minimum except for DDs & the I'm more worried about maneuverability than AA values.

As I recall from LWM's Ise review, Ise, Ismail, QE, Dorian, New Mexico are the better AA BBs on T6.

I haven't seen a graphic from LWM on T6 cruiser AA but I believe Dallas is best and is one of the few with a competent long range aura on that tier. Pensacola is solid but lacks range. Huang He is quite good but I don't like the ship overall.

T6 isn't a great place for AA cruisers. Most of them were early war cruisers and had weaker AA  because they are too small to carry many of the heavier AA guns or were too early for people to realize they needed more of them.
