Thank goodness, @Snargfargle included a link. With the weather we've all been having I was worried.

Ah, the town of my birth. You know you're big time when your river catches fire.
2,555 [GWG] AVR_Project Members 8,018 posts 15,874 battles Report post #13 Posted July 3, 2021 The oil in the Gulf comes up to the surface, where it can be skimmed away. On the other hand, the 'Keystone Pipeline' Bakaan Crude is heavy and will sink to the bottom. It won't catch on fire, but it makes cleanup impossible with the bottoms of waterways becoming a sticky, gooey mess. This is why there are so many protesters in the mid-west US who have seen these spills off the smaller Keystone pipeline. And they are trying to run the new lines in a short-cut across major aquifers. If one of the new larger pipelines under construction breaks, it'll sink straight down through the soil and render thousands of square miles uninhabitable. Pretty sure this was a gas leak and not an oil leak. Pemek has a terrible safety record so this isnt surprising.
