Care to point out which one? Because as far as I'm aware WG has been very careful to not include the swastika in the game.

If you're talking about a player mod, that's not something WG controls and other players can't see.

Probably referring to the soccer ball...because some people will see things in things because they look for them.

There's never been a swastika in this game. WG and other companies only do this because of international law and interest, even if it's a bad idea. Even if this symbol does offend people, it's more important that people know why and where it came from. It's an important (though terrible) part of history. Those that don't know their history are bound to repeat it; those who reject it, are certain too.

People should be introduced to the real history of the swastika and realize that though one corrupt regime used it as their symbol for 15 years, billions of people from all over the world have used it as a symbol of luck and good fortune since the dawn of history.

It's true. Unfortunate for the Hindu.

There is no swastika specifically in game.

Even living history and actual German planes that flew in WW2 have a special signage that is essentially a illusion of one. But specifically not having that symbol of evil anywhere.

The game does not have it anywhere. Which is good. I dont mind flying the Imperial or the Iron. But certain aspects I do have issues with and found WG pretty sensitive in leaving those imagery out.

It would be serving the entire Community if the OP was to have gotten a screen shot with a date and time of seeing such a think somewhere in game. The mods and Customer Service can follow up on it.

To me this is a non issue.

TBH, I wouldn't even mind swastikas in game. Everyone's scared of being portrayed as evil because they used historically accurate symbols. WG censored the German flag in the last photo history album.

Although you should be scared. The media jumps on anything and everything they can find to go "gAsP u ArE eViL !??!11!!?11111!?!//1!".

Damn political correctness to hell.:Smile_izmena:

Well... it's not of political correctness, but more of a lawful decision.

Sincer WoWs have players all around the world, a lot of them are probably in countries where showing a swastika is illegal. The classical example be Germany, with the Strafgesetzbuch §86a (Section 86a of the Federal Criminal Code), which states:

Quote

§ 86a StGB Use of Symbols of Unconstitutional Organizations.

1. Whoever:

1. domestically distributes or publicly uses, in a meeting or in writings (§ 11 subsection (3)) disseminated by him, symbols of one of the parties or organizations indicated in § 86 subsection (1), nos. 1, 2 and 4; or

2. produces, stocks, imports or exports objects which depict or contain such symbols for distribution or use domestically or abroad, in the manner indicated in number 1,

shall be punished with imprisonment for not more than three years or a fine.

2. Symbols, within the meaning of subsection (1), shall be, in particular, flags, insignia, uniforms, slogans and forms of greeting. Symbols which are so similar as to be mistaken for those named in sentence 1 shall be deemed to be equivalent thereto.

3. The exceptions from §86 subsection (3) and (4) apply accordingly.

As you can see, the german federal law doesn't say "swastikas are prohibited", but they use a more general rule (symbols associated with unconstitutional organizations, aka those who proposses to undermine or destroy the constitutional order in Germany), which includes not just the swastika, but also the Hammer and Sickle, the KKK symbol, and even the ISIL flag or the Kurdish militia flags.

Now, in Germany, the case of videogames wasn't at all clear up until 1988, when a federal court ruled against the use of swastikas and other nazi symbolism on Wolfstein 3D. The logic of the judge was this: If this videogame is designed to attract young people, the usual display of nazi symbols could make them more vulnerable to ideological manipulation. BUT, this rulling came to an end in August 2018, when another court reviewed the game Bundesfighter II Turbo, which includes parodies of cadidates to the office of President in the 2017 September Elections, and the especial movement of Alexander Gauland (from AfD) includes an swastika. The USK take the game to the Office of the General Prosecutor, which declined to charge files against the developers since the decision of 1988 is outdated. Since then, the USK started to consider videogames to fall under the category of "art" and be a lil' more relaxed with the aplication of the law (that could explain, for example, the WoWs in Germany can show the Hammer and Sickle on all russian vessels).

In other countries have or had similar laws. In Hungary, both nazi and communist symbols were illegal to show (witch exceptions) until 2013; in Latvia, since 2013 are illegal, same as Lithuania and Poland.

Even in Brazil, the manufacture, distribution or broadcasting of the swastika, with the intent to propagate Nazism, is a crime.

Very interesting, The swastika seems to be banned everywhere, but at the same time, the hammer and sickle seems to be seem everywhere. In both Wot and WoWs, the hammer and sickle is shown prominently. I assumed that there were no laws against it.

Then again . . . it is a Russian game.
