As the title says, please add a BB-centric Italian unique commander. 

 

Talents should include things that synergize with the italian BBs:

+ accuracy for secondary guns

- dispersion for main guns

+ smoke screen time

+ penetration for secondary guns (90mms wont even pen DD armor this is absurd)

Most Italian secondaries aren't large enough to even penetrate DD plating.

Do you even play this game?

It's actually a bad idea to try and balance a line around a single unique commander's abilities. If you do that, either the line sucks when not using that commander, or it's OP when he's at the helm.

Better to balance the actual ship as a ship, and let the commander do perks.

Also, if you're using RM BBs for their secondaries, you're doing it wrong.

Sansonetti is fine on BBs as it is, not just cruisers. Hell, he'd most likely end up being great on DDs too when the Italian get theirs. He's practically a must have for anyone playing Italian ships at this point. Definitely one of the better super-commanders.

The Italian 90mm guns are meant to tickle DDs into hopefully leaving the target alone.

I never switch to AP - the Penn is kinda meh and SAP is a no brainer at tier X

Unless you’re shooting at destroyers - then the 10% cap on SAP damage makes AP look pretty good.

My experience so far has been that the trash accuracy will divert most of the SAP I fire into the main belt instead of upper belt/superstructure where it's aimed resulting in shatters.  With AP at least I will get overpens and maybe a full pen or two so the salvo isn't a total waste.  Bow in or angled target then stick with SAP though.

um... unless I am mistaken, AP has same 10% cap and SAP has higher max damage so the SAP is actually still slightly better against DDs.  Or has the SAP damage been nerfed?

Truth be told it's hard to figure out what convoluted scheme they were trying to pull with that one.

Per the Wiki, I seem to have it backwards.

Oh well. 

With their rotten dispersion/sigma, it hardly matters what ammo I sling at a DD. It ain’t hitting.

I got a close quarters/first blood 🩸 in my Marco Polo against a Ostergotland while synergistically working with our Paolo Emilio in a ranked battle. It was a one off thou and a very pleasant surprise!

In that battle my Polo’s secondaries struck 19 time for 1,277 total damage.

38 Ranked battles in a new Marco Polo. Starting with a 3 point captain and going to 18 points. No secondary build.

I have Sansonetti on my cruisers, but I would really like another commander with the same perk that gives the extra range after a kill. If not that, give a commander a perk that slightly increases dispersion because my goodness those shells are crazy. At the very least a slight reload boost.

You can have the "Bestest Shells in teh World!" and it won't matter if the guns can't hit s**t!

A dispersion increase, huh?

MAYBE if WG gave him to me for completely free (no grinding, no missions, no money, no in-game currency, no this, that, or the other thing - zero, zip, zilch, nada) AND if they paid me enough doubloons to allow me to dismiss him and confiscate his experience points for ECXP.

I believe the Italians will get a pair of anonymous commanders when they get a DD line.  Three lines and 3 commanders.

I have Sansonetti on my RM Premium BBs, but he is home on the Venezia.
