WG Has given the statistics of the planes but have they revealed what planes were used and converted for CV use because they would not be purpose built Aircraft for Naval Carriers operations since they never had at the very least before 1950.

So have they just copy and pasted other nations models then modified them and slapped on VMF plane insignia  and markings.

Let me guess the Tier 10 CV has a Naval version of this.

Like the German CV Line, it's going to be also all Bull**** naval aircraft.  The Russians did not operate an aircraft carrier until several decades into the Cold War, never mind the goddamn WWII era.  The Kievs were the first Russian ships that operated fixed wing aircraft.  Kiev was commissioned in 19-f***ing-75.  They didn't have a true Carrier until 1990 with the Kuznetsov.

Yet here they are, WG cooking up fake Russian CVs for the WWII-era.

Given their track record I would expect multiple ground based interceptors to become carrier launched planes.

The stats and idea revolving around their announcement is wholly underwhelming.  It'll be just like the DDs -- meh botes.  Standard concealment, weak aircraft, meh armament, single squadrons.  They took all of the weak points of CVs and decided to make a whole branch of weakness, LMA0.  CV reload is (flight time) / (strikes) = reload (sans FDR).  With single squadron, Strikes will ALWAYS be less than or equal to one, more often than not, less because paper armor = dead planes.  Dead planes = missing damage.   If it takes CV 45 seconds to transit to 2 ships, and half of the aircraft are lost before load release, the reload for a full strike potential is 90 seconds.   Hak for instance can get between 3 and 4 strikes off via torp bombers which is 54k-72k damage per transit.  I have a feeling they're going to have to drastically change their concept to make it a viable ship line.

As it stands announced, we've got some rather weak imaginary ships coming.

They're not going to release a new line needing buffs unless they're EU DDs....  weegee banks on new  broken ships.  Release new broken line, get people to waste money on early access so they can grief bote, next patch line comes live, players waste resources obtaining them, then they nerf.   This is the weegee way.

A good guess could be;

LAGG7 Fighter/ rocket plane,.

IL2 dive bomber so armored that it would be very hard to shoot down

And a PE-2 torpedo or skip bomber, because why not.

I checked just about all the planes on Google this plane is the only legit plane you could say was Naval

The rest are basically Army or Air force planes and this is only Naval design based off a Air force model.

I don't really see anything wrong with WG using navalised versions of soviet planes from the era, perhaps they found suggested planes in documents for the ships themselves. Better than what you said about just reusing models from other nations.

It's a game...designed in Russia...were you expecting them to only have T8 Russian ships because that's mainly all that existed...or only have ships types from what existed & never give the citizens of their own country any ships to use from their nation unless they were actually made...

Again... it's just a game...

It's not a sim & it's not a history lesson...

Who cares?

Shall we dig up JRR Tolkien & decimate his remains because Elves Dwarves Orcs & Balrogs don't really exist (or do they)?

From what I've read...other than the Tiny Tim bombers...the others can launch from outside AA range... don't need to worry about plane losses when you never get into AA range other than attacking bubbles.

I'm pretty sure the Tolkien version of elves exist to some degree. Tolkien had a fascination with Finland and the Finnish people. The elvish language in his books is based on Finnish and I'd just about bet the legendary elven marksmanship comes from the Finns as well.

That said, while it's not impossible the Russians to have had a few thoughts about hypothetical planes for their hypothetical CVs, they would be lacking in the experience of what it takes to make a good carrier based aircraft. The British had experience designing carrier based aircraft and still had issues trying to adapt land based designs to carrier based designs. The Seafire needed quite a lot of tweaking to make it work as well as it did and it was never perfect, though most of it's issues were in landing and taking off, once it was in the air, it was still nearly as good as a normal Spitfire.

I cannot believe we wouldn't see some variation of the venerable IL-2 Sturmovik.    Covers the time period well enough and should have been able to be adapted to operate from a carrier should one have existed?
