I don't know if this was a question for anyone else but it occurred to me, that maybe with the new disclaimer on new premiums that "We might change this", old premiums that were sold before it, might harbor some sort of immunity from direct nerfs by name.  I think we have an answer.

Pretty old news at this point... Premium CVs apparently were tagged internally as adjustable long ago.  The previous global reticle changes very obviously individually targeted some  of the premium CVs with minor nerfs.  If they snagged a non offender in the process ( Graf Z) - who cares?    tough luck.. They are aware their CV customers are a small group and that the bulk of the player base could care less if they are harmed and probably would stand up and cheer about it..   So as a group, this is what is to be expected.

Premium CVs are premium ships, at the end of the day.   It's been years now, since the CV rework and they certainly aren't any cheaper an the average T8 premium.

I am sure a whole mess of new players are here now, who have no idea what happened back then. They might have hit that buy button, just last week.

I am not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing, I am saying it's a thing to be aware of.  It means to you, whatever it means to you.

I though that the CV rework was pretty much a statement that any CV regardless of status is bound to change?

I would argue that if any class changes as drastically as CVs, then all premiums  of said class would be affected.

But anyway the whole "unnerfable" status was just informal WG policy, so dunno how much faith can be placed there anyway. Unless there is in writing on EULA and on the ship page that a specific ship won't be touched, everything is subject to change.

And IMO has always been a  mistake on their part.. Yet,  they know as soon as that cats out of the bag it will drastically reduce their premium ship sales..     And as we all know as soon as it happens obviously to a surface ship so many who will sit here silent when it happened to premium CVs will lose their ever loving shite when it happens to their shiny new OP surface ship.   Doesn't matter now anyway.. new nerf method for premium ship adjustments is to enact a global nerf..  then individually buff those that didn't need..     Or the more profitable way.. pull it from shop after announcing it for months prior to stimulate those who can afford to buy it up.   Hey it's F2P.. this is the way.

Pretty much this, everything CV related could change with the rework. That's why full doubloon refunds were offered for premium CVs.

Also, for the USN CVs technically that's not a direct nerf, the Tiny Tim rocket planes, which are on multiple CVs, were changed. So that makes it a global change and not CV specific. The GZ is probably the same idea though those planes may only be on GZ.

Either way, WG is pretty clearly moving away from unnerfable premiums, which in my opinion is a good thing long term. Only other option is to remove them, I'd rather have a small change made than potentially a historical ship made unavailable.

I never thought a premium ship would have immunity, and still bought Kaga, Saipan, and E. Loew. It's better for a majority of people in match (>1) so w/e.

I'm probably going to spend the first 50 games post-update focusing BBs mostly, then start playing around with the the timings more on DDs in a practice room.
