Ohio or Vampire II

Almost done with a regrind on German cruisers and just starting the US heavy cruisers. Once both are done, I'll have enough RP to obtain Vampire II, but will need one more reset to have enough for Ohio. Which one should I go for?

Reasons to get Ohio...

Strong Secondaries that were barely effected by the rework

Fast reloading heal

Halsey

Georgia guns without the slow turret traverse plus an extra turret

Will be great for Secondary Battery hit ribbons

Has been around longer, so could find itself removed earlier, although they have yet to remove a RB ship

 

Reasons to not get Ohio...

Second slowest among T10 BBs

can be citadelled with relative ease

Going secondaries means sacking CE or FP and may not be 100% effective for PvP

 

Reason to get Vampire II...

Is more or less a T10 Haida, and Haida has become among my favorite DDs since playing her in ranked

Doesn't have Haida's main drawback of horrid firing angles

Improved bounce angle on the AP, plus can fuse on DD hulls

much better fire starting than Haida

 

Reasons to not get Vampire II...

only a 14 point captain currently, which is not ideal for a T10, probably needing around a 17-21 pointer

Haida is at its strongest where the line between aggression and suicide becomes blurry, Vampire II looks no different

Vampire II has to deal with things that don't really exist around Haida: radar, actually terrifying FR DDs, and Smaland.

Ohio. She is my favorite T10 BB. I also have Vampire 2. I play my Ohio a lot. I don't play my Vampire 2 very often. If you are a DD main looking for that crawl smoke + Hydro to contest caps, Vampire 2. In my experience a T10 with so much radar and stuff playing  Vampire 2 can get very iffy. Daring feels better with puff smoke and more torps. If you want a solid BB that can be used for any occasion, get Ohio.

As for myself, I would say Vampire II; but that’s because Georgia never worked for me except as a secondaries meme boat, and Ohio just seems to be a Georgia with two more guns.

Both. I couldnt decide either so I did  the IJN gunboat line a few times until I had enough to get both. I am happy with my decision.

I have Ohio and it's great and I use it a lot. I have Vampire II and instantly wished I went with Slava first.

Get the Ohio.

Vampire is just like any of the 30+ dd's I already possess in game nothing special.

There are not many Ohios yet but I will soon to be buying one myself.

The next DD to have a stealth radar that cannot be detected by any ship will be what I buy with both hands. All others are just ordinary. Except the benham, blacks etc.

Here's three things about Ohio that I enjoy alot. The heal comes online quick. Massa style. If you are trying to be aggressive it feels better. The medium AA is 4km and as a CV player I value that extra damage radius. It doesn't seem like a lot but it matters to me. CVs tend not to prioritize it. Last but not least, I run the turret speed mod. The turrets rotate FAST. As a quality of life thing it is great. I've caught many ships by surprise thinking my guns can't swing around as fast as they can. Ohio just feels aggressive and dynamic. The shells SLAP. The reload is a little quicker. The accuracy is good. You can run for a little extra range or you can have FAST rotation. 

She feels solid in nearly every match. Reliable. I've never been in my Ohio wishing I brought a different ship.

Are you a BB main or a DD main?

If you can answer that question then there is your answer as to which ship to get.

Me, I am a DD main and I L.O.V.E. The Vamp2.  Has been very effective for me in clan battles...where planes and radar are commonplace.

Your captain is only 14?  So what?  Ship won’t care.

The boat rocks.  If you like DDs, if you do anything competitive...you will enjoy having her.

I don't think so....

It seems more nimble than monty.

Not as squishy as a Georgia. 

Able to get in closer and brawl.

Just like all BB's don't show your broadsides.

The 18" guns make fast work on ships that 16" guns can't overmatch.

Nope.

More accurate guns due to extra turret. 

Better AA.

Look at battleships you are facing in CB.

1st 2 leagues has been dominant with Ohio.
