Which are gun boats and which are torpedo boats

OK I have a DD question that has given me mixed results for answers every time I've asked it.  I tried looking it up but most of the information is older than 2019 and with so many new boats, and lines, I'd like an up to date answer if possible. Which nations DD’s are considered gun boats and which are torpedo boats? Is there a tier where it becomes obvious? I know some, but many I’m not sure about and from the limited answers I've received, there are some that people don't agree on. Figured this forum would give me the most opinions..

IJN old line is torp, new line (aki, kita, and gumo) is guns. USN is traditionally guns, but T9 and T10 torps are pretty good and there are better gunboats. Old RU and French line is gunboat, some of them are more cruisers than DDs. New RU line split is still guns but have usable torps. RN boats are pretty good at both, but probably tend to guns. Germans are not great at either, OK torps and OK guns, their strength is the smoke hydro combo. Pan Asian DDs....does anyone even play those? OK guns, OK torps. IKEA DDs are torpboats with decent guns. I think that's everyone?

Really it's only the old IJN line that is torps only, almost all the rest are OK at both, with a few exceptions (low tier USN DDs and Khaba notably have bad torps, French torps are also very secondary). It's not as cut and dried as it used to be.

1. Torpedo rage.  If it is Russian and short.  It is a gun boat.
2. Torpedo reload timer.  If this is 2min or more.   I suspect it will be a gun boat
3. Main battery reload.  If this is >5sec - probably a torpedo boat.
4. Camo, is bad - probably a gun boat as you will be lit anyway.

Ships w/bad detection are usually the gunboats...if you can stealth torp you are more than likely in a torp boat.

Some have a good balance of both...some have a bad balance of both (on a ship per ship basis...the lines are usually pretty standard that most of them in a given nation are geared towards 1 or the other w/a pretty obvious distinction at the split if there is a split...but there's occasionally an outlier or 2 in each line that is either good at both or just blows at both.

The new line eventually gets there but it starts out with 2 pure torp boats. Which could confuse somebody heading up the "gun-boat" line.
