What's 100k coal worth?

What's 100k coal worth today in game terms?

Right now, you can get the Pommern in the Armory for 228,000 coal or 19,300 gold.

That means that at 252.53g/$1, the Pommern costs $76.43 or 228,000 coal, ergo 100,000 coal = 100,000*(76.43/228,000), or $33.52 in game terms.

At the in game rate of 1g:1,500s, $33.52 buys you 33.52*252.53*1500, or 12,697,208 silver, thus that's the value of 100k coal in silver at the  current game exchange rates, though you can't buy it for that of course.

Right now, though, you can get 62,500,000 silver in the Armory for $100.  $100*(12,697,208/62,500,000)=$20.31.  Since that silver's %40 off,  coal at auction's a bargain for the players short silver--at least compared to the players  who will convert their silver at 100%, vs the 60% off players.  Silver whales will pay $33.52 in silver vs. $20.31 for those who take advantage of the 40% off.  Slick

But even at the 40% discount, 25,000,000 in silver = 25/62.5 *$100, or $40--even the plebs, even if they get hit at the minimum bid, will be paying almost exactly double the price of 100k of coal--$20.31--at the in-game exchange rates.  But of course you can't buy it there...

Back when Jean Bart came out she was in the premium shop for $80 and in the armory for 228, 000 coal. That makes 100,000 coal worth about $35, if I did the math correctly.

I think you hit on the issue twice.  Since you can't "buy" coal directly, it is inherently worth more as coal then as silver.  Silver is easily farmed by any player or a min-cost player who spends $50 a year for 365 days of VIP time every Christmas. So while their is no limit to how much silver you can farm in a day, you get (WG says) an average of 4 sacks of coal in your 3 more resources containers per day on average.  So 1200 coal per day so 100K coal is 84 days of coal farming.

About zero.

farming silver to pay coal takes time. and thats it. Eventually you have the silver.

And same with coal. Play long enough and you have your 100K.

You could try to figure the drain of your computer power and cooling against your utilites combined with the food you eat farming this thing for whatever amount of days.

Unless you are in a decent clan & get an extra 10%  coal daily.

Can't you do the same comparison using 1,500 G, 10-pt captains and the 35K Coal captains available in the Armory (even knowing the Coal captains are special)?

It's a little more than that.  Four sacks from the Resources crates is about right.  But if you're getting three drops, then you're also clearing the daily missions for another sack worth.  So five per day. And I always seem got some from other things like missions and Shipments.  Oh yeah, and the 10%.  Maybe six or 2400 is closer to the average. Now that I think about it, a couple of us forum guys tracked our totals over a couple months and we averaged over 2000/day playing for three crates.  So 100K coal would be ~50 days of solid play.

Credit earnings in that time?  I have no real idea but 25M+ sounds realistic.

2 million credits an hour NET using a Missouri or any T9-10 premium would be fairly conservative for silver farming at a conservative 3 games per hour rate (could be 4 on average).  Using just the standard +20% signal flags.  That would be around 13 hours of farming to get 25M silver.  I would roughly guess that someone could easily farm 40M a week playing about 20 hours.  So while 100K would take 7 weeks (and a day) to farm 100K coal, you could farm 25M silver in 13 hours (2-3 days of casual play) or 280M silver in 49 days (7 weeks).

So just from a "time" perspective, 100K coal is 50 days of container farming and in that same time you could equally farm up 280M silver. We'll see where the bidding lands but 280M silver seems like a reasonable time based equivalent.
