  1. 1. How much are you going to bid for the 100.000 coal?

    • Around 1 billion credits, to make sure I win!
      18
    • Around 600.000.000 creds. I really want that coal, but not too crazy.
      2
    • Around 300.000.000 creds. I hope I win, but not desperate.
      5
    • Around 150.000.000 creds. Let's hope that not many whales participate.
      16
    • Around 70.000.000 creds. That's all want to pay.
      32
    • 25-30.000.000 creds, right above the minimum, in case there is not enough participants.
      59
    • I am not bidding.

So, the auction starts tomorrow or in a few days. Let's vote on this poll to have an idea, how much are people wanting to spend on that coal? So we don't offer too much. It would be stupid if out of 5000 lots, 200 people pay 1 billion, while the 5000th bid to win is just 25.000.001 creds, right?

IMPORTANT: the amount of items is GLOBAL. So there are only 5000 lots of 100.000 coal for ALL THE SERVERS! NA, CIS, EU, and Asia. So, if Americans all offer 25mil, and all Asians offer 30 mil, no American will get any coal, and 5000 Asians that offered 30mil will get all the coal.

IMPORTANT 2: global or not, is unclear. Russian devs said it is global, then in US stream they said it is per server (5000 NA, 5000 Asia, etc).

In other words, we are competing with all the servers, not NA alone.

It says right there on the page that it's at the end of May (28th -31st IIRC)

Also insanely high bids seem kind of silly. Whales don't become whales by throwing resources. I'll wager the average bid is in fact between 25M to 30M

Depends whether the 5000 is per server or global. Apparently there's some translation controversy around that.

I am not going to support this auction garbage.  Gamble Boxes are already too much, and now this.  No thanks.

Suppose you can buy coal from Armory. For example, if in the armory the coal would cost 50 million for 100.000 coal, would you buy? if it was 25 million? if it was 100 million? So, the auction is just that, you offer an amount you would like to pay. Pretend you are buying coal from the armory. If you are lucky, you get that deal. If you are not, your cash is returned, as if nothing happened. You don't get an empty box, as it happens with loot boxes.

Armory is part of regional server so can't see how that becomes global bidding war...

If my math is right (and that's debatable) , using the Jean Bart previously sold at $80 or 238k coal, these are the conversion figures:

$1.00 = 250 dubs (Wiki)

           = 2,975 coal (238k / $80)

           = 375,000 credits/silver (Wiki 1 dub = 1,500 credits)

That means that

1 Coal = 126 credits (375,000 / 2.975)

100,000 coal, if you could buy it for credits, would then be worth 12,600,000 credits (or around $33)

Because coal can't be "bought" I would bid 10x its value up to 150,000,000 credits to get it, but no more.

seems to be alot of ships on the seas that cant unload their coal (5000).....supply and demand  ...its over priced in my opinion...but the auction  is for fun ..so maybe 1 credit per piece or nothing at all

I have 1b+ credits with nothing else useful to spend it on. I can very much use coal.

Overpriced is a matter of opinion. It's not overpriced if the currency you pay is useless to you because you already have too much of it.

thats pretty much where im at to 150M .   Can we see what the bid is up to or is it blind?

ok scenario , there are 5000 winners , winner 1 bid 1 billion winner 5k bid 21M will winner 1 know what the winning bids were ?  on patch weekend we normally see ~20k players daily so 5k winners is a lot and id venture to guess most dont have deep pockets .

edit : im thinking they'll keep everything blind to get as many people to spend as much resources

This is exactly the right way to think about the auction system.  Offer up a bid for what you think the item is worth.  If you get it, you're happy to have paid a fair price.  If not, you didn't lose anything.

Extremely unlikely, it would strongly de-incetivize over spending. My bet is you won't get any feedback at all outside winning or not

And at the other end of the spectrum, I have 30K credits and 90K coal, so I’m just going to watch from the sidelines.
