I would like to see real waves modeled visually, with the ships pitching and yawing with the waves.  This would only be cosmetic and all guns would maintain targeting with no variation just as they do now, casemate secondaries would still fire regardless of the sea state.

If an indie game like Valheim can have real waves then WoWS can too.  Sailing on a perfectly flat, textured plane doesn't feel right.

If the ship is pitching and yawing (which I visually agree with, nothing more disappointing than being in a "cyclone" and not feeling like I'm in one) that is going to affect targeting.  Even if the ship is not rising and falling on its centerpoint, the pitch and yaw may affect shell impacts (if the bow dips down and you aimed at the bow you'll miss a shot you otherwise would not have) and that may sour people on this idea.

Me? I'm all for it.

HMS Vanguard finally gets to bring bear one of its design features

This would require more sea action and animating the ships far more than the leaning during turns that we have now. This would push the minimum system requirement to far too high a level.

This is so far down the list of priorities that it doesn't bear thinking upon.  There are so many other things that are more worthy of WG's time and effort, such as more maps (and much more original and interesting ones at that).

Yeah because this game doesn’t make my computer squeal as it is now.

No, it doesn't.  I have a seven year old PC that runs the game at max detail at 1440p with no frame rate issues.  Only the video card is newer than that and that is a first gen nVidia 1070.

The waves would take a bit more processing.  The ships are already on screen and would take no more processing than they do now.  Rendering is rendering.  If angle mattered then rotating your view point around your ship would produce the same kind of impact on frame rate as the ship pitching.

Rougher seas was already a design element added to the game as part of the now-disabled Operation Hermes PvE event
