Since last Wednesday's update, 14th April, the teams in COOP are almost exclusively, from Thursday on in my case exclusively, either made up of two humans and 7 bots or 9 humans. No other variation. Is this a 'feature' or a bug?

I'm finding this predominantly with tier 10 matches. I was playing around with it last evening. When I'm playing tier 7 through 9 things seem to be pretty much as they always are.

Are you seeing the same?

Wow, same! I mentioned it in another thread a few days ago - thought it was just me.

Got to say I love the 2 against 9 (as the ally bots usually die quick).

Yeah.  It's kind of scary to jump onto Co-Op with a high tier CV.
Turned out the 'friendly' bots are on the 'smart' setting and can actually turn a flank.
...
Strategy in the past was for all humans to go to one flank, snipe at the reds while keeping in cover,
 - then come out against the usual 5 red bot survivors once all the bot-bot ramming is done.

Before now, to mix into that mess risked either being team-killed, or becoming a teamkiller.  

Things have change.

2 against 9 is preferable to me when I'm in my invincible Pommern. Decent returns in such matchs.

I thought it was a fluke when you mentioned it earlier, but I kept track after i read your post.  From Friday evening through Sunday evening, maybe a total of 40 games in Co-op - either 2 humans or all humans on the green team, no matter what tier I was playing (predominantly T7 ships).  very weird, tho I kind of like not being the only human on a team...

This must be something they did in the new patch, as we were getting much more varied team make-ups earlier in the week.  Not sure why they made that change - didn't see any issues with team make-ups before.

Maybe @Hapa_Fodder can comment on this change?  I asked him Saturday during a game, and he kind of brushed off the question...I don;t think the change is inherently bad or good, but wondering why they saw fit to change it.

As I have told a few people that have been PMing me or posting. PLEASE if it is a bug you have noticed since the patch put it here: 

Keep in mind to maximize the information we have there is a format to follow for the bug reports.

Or put the feedback for the patch overall here: 

It is VERY difficult to continuously answer or keep track of PMs or random posts if there is an issue its far easier to track and report on, if you place them in the applicable section.

I don't know about it either, but I am literally right now, writing reports on the patch and I will 100% include this if its in there.

I have experienced this all last night. either I got just me, me and one other, a full team, then just me, another, then another, then me, then another, then just me. MM in Co-Op is wonky for sure, but I will leave that up to WG to look into it and will continue to play. I don't consider it a complaint, but an observation because it could easily be explained that players at that particular time probably went to bed or were just plain wasted from Sunday night follies in Randoms and were not up to playing co-op at all. There could be many things involved and not just a queue issue. So, I am not going to make it a major fuss. 

However, since players are also experiencing said phenomenon, it is a cause of concern for them. I also noticed that when I do get in a solo match. I get that one team bot that plays exceedingly well like he was cloned by me. Because he is sinking 4 or 5 and wins the match before I even get a decent shot in. Last night it was :Arminjon:

For a bot, he is very persistent as a team mate.

Here's a ONE Human game...

It's like my third game in this ship...   The earlier two games were also 2 player co-ops.  This one.....  
If it gets any worse...

After initial comments about this topic were posted - and considering that I had seen the same roster makeups, I kept stats for 2 days (Sunday & Monday).  I played 40 solo games and 16 Division games for a total of 56 matches.

39 games -70%- had 9 humans (29 solo, 10 Div).  9 solo games  - 16% - were just 2 humans.  3 solo games and 3 Div games were 3 humans.  3 Div games were 4 humans.

If this is a MM change for Co-ops, it seems to favor complete lineups.  The only issue I encountered in the 2 humans only matches was when both were in DDs.  The bot cruisers whipped our butts pretty quickly.  The number of Draws has increased for me.

I played 4 Coop battles early this morning (6 am EDT) and all were 2 human rosters although the queue showed many (24 or so) other players....

I do not mind a few green bots, but then TELL ME it will have x-number of bots!

The queue of 'available players' seems to be just made up. Often the actual player/ship distribution does not at all resemble the queue.

Why not add a number showing the numbers of green bots so i can decide whether i want to play or not?

I hate to be the only human in a CL without torps. At least give me a chance to pick a ship that can carry!

That is the main issue, when you're in a ship that isn't a good carry choice and you get 7 derpy green bots.

seems too many times red bots play better than green bots, but consolation still better than some humans i get on my team  :Smile-_tongue: 

 

yeah it's too specific of change to not be a test and/or MM bug

For what it's worth...

17 games this morning between 900 am and noon ( US Eastern time ), all in a tier 9 DD. 12 had all live players, while the other 5 had the 2-7 combo. Nothing in between. 

 

Update:

Another twenty games last night and this morning, most of them in tier 9 or 10 DD's. 15 games had full teams, the other 5 had two. Since I started counting , that's a total of 27 battles with full teams of real players, and 10 with two players and seven bots. Based om my limited sample ( and the comments of others here on the Forum ), it looks like something may have been changed in the MM programming for co-op battles. I'm not complaining...it just seems strange that we aren't seeing more variation in team composition.

My problem with it is that I tend to play a lot of Russian destroyers and cruisers.  I need to be aggressive to get in torpedo range, so I spend way too much time in spectator mode, watching the teambot battleships trying to hunt down the enemy carrier.  Booooring.  Or ESC and settle for another draw.  C'mon, WG, fix this crap.
