Played a fair number of Defense of Naval Station Newport ops over the last few days. Some were fails but most were 2 or 3 star victories, which was good.

Then every so often I'd get the perfect mix of random players who really know what they're doing : they push out to meet the initial waves and then flank and kite back to the base without dying. They prioritize the red DDs, then CL/CAs, then BBs. The team CV pushes to the very edge of the base so planes are always in play spotting and dealing damage where needed. We wipe out the first three waves easily with time to spare.

Then comes the save Romeo sub mission. Escorting him back to the base isn't very difficult but unfortunately he will not stay out of sight once he gets there. THREE games over the last couple days we were on our way to an ultra rare 5 star win for this op with just a couple reds left only to have Romeo get himself sunk. The last game I played the reds were barely even getting into the base. All the players were out in the bay and the reds were still able to pick out Romeo and sink him.

Really want to 5 star this op again since I think I've only done it maybe twice.

I never much cared for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet as they seemed to me just a couple of stupid spoiled brats who got what they deserved. Thank goodness they didn't live to marry and have even stupider kids. The real story, which Shakespeare based his play on, is that of Pyramus and Thisbe, which is an actual tragedy.

Pyramus and Thisbe is the play within a play in Midsummer Night's Dream, which could be interpreted as an interpretation of P&T in itself. Anyway here's the Beatles version!

Could be. Every game Romeo goes and visits the two repair boats first and is unable to find Juliet. So he decides life isn't worth living and circles around in front of the island and dies.

King Lear had worse offspring.

There have been times when i would like to swear at Romeo, piker won't hide himself even when low HP and we all know once you are low HP "YOU" are the Target, everyone fires at you..

I've played it a lot, i find it the most difficult of the ops to play and therefore the most challenging, I've gotten 2 five stars and numerous 4's since it started but have had a bunch of 1's 2's  and a few zilches..

The one game we got 5 i would have made bets at the beggining there was no way we would, ship mix didn't seem like it would work.. but somehow it did.  One guy yesterday said, "this is easy if people know what they are doing" ..  i guess if you are only expecting 1-3 stars on it..

Kind of wish some of the other OPS were more challenging..
